I agree with you assessment these games all fit the criteria only thing is none of them really stand out for one reason or another. Zambrano is the Cubs best pitcher which makes that game hard to play. The other two have big juices and your first start theory has merit. I looked around trying to find a game to play and Tigers seem to be the only team I like for todays game...

Det(-182):Team is upset after a 9-2 loss with Bonderman on the mound...Miner is hot....The juice is high but what do you expect its Tigers vs Pirates..

Evaluate my friend...

Series is tied 1-1. I would expect the better team to win the series. Not an official play and not recommending it to anybody but strictly for entertainment purposes and to enhance my baseball viewing pleasure I have Tigers in a parlay with another good team. Something to think about.

Early Happy July 4th to all and you Alamo....I may not post tomorrow so like to get that out....Looking at the games that fit the criteria today I see a few that standout...Alamo your eyes (ears) always welcome...

My two cents:

Cincinnati(-110):Brew Crew is really struggling while the Reds ran into the Indians...Both pitchers didnt allow runs the 1st time they face each other yet the second time around wasnt to pleasent...Harang has shown more consistency against the Brewers...They need him today and he should show up...While Bush got rocked last time up against the Reds expect more of the same today...the juice isnt all to bad either....

Arizona(+144)Alamo you called it they just might get hot...

Happy Birthday USA!!! Note to our those who hate our country. We fought for our freedom 230 years ago. If you don't like your life don't blame us, blame yourself. And one more thing....take the Astros today! lol

Just kidding on the Astro thing. As you know if read my humble thread I lost two staight games and decided to shut it down till after the All Star break. Being the degenerate gambler that I am, I have continued to play although not posting the games and for very good reason. I have lost the last three games I played making it an 0-5 run. You didn't think I was going to keep winning day in and day out did you? I certainly didn't.

Now here is the good news. After the first two losses of this 0-5 run I bet $20 on the next loss and yesterday I bet $10 on each of those two losses. Can you do that? Can you KNOW you are going to lose, can you KNOW the tide has turned against you? If you can KNOW that and admit it to yourself you can do one of two things.

Stop gambling or drop you wagers down to minimal levels. I call this making a sacrafice to the gambling god. The gambling god demands losses, he/she/it demands them of you and he/she/it will have them no matter what you do. But the gambling god does not demand a big sacrafice, he/she/it can be satisfied with a small wager.

Knowing when to back down or back out is just as important as money management or developing systems or guidlines for handicapping games.

No official play from me again today. I will make another sacrafice today, more to enhance my baseball viewing pleasure than anything else and when it loses I will laugh at the $10 lose and hope the gods choke on it.

Money management skills in gambling is so critical and people like yourself always come out on top discipline cappers are always the best to follow....

Houston(-141):Everybody is on this game for obvious reasons...Im on it for "the way" says its a good play....

San Francisco(-125):This game jumped at me...usually thats a good sign.....

I would really like your two cents on these games Alamo

I like Houston also however Pettite has been Houston's hard luck pitcher. When he pitches well he gets no run support and when he get run support he pitches poorly and still looses. I also see Pettite as an average pitcher, only good for 5 or 6 innings. His ERA is what it is for good reason.

Having said all that however, Houston is a much better team at home and they are playing the Cubs for crying out loud. Pitching probably will have nothing to do with this game after all said and done.

San Francisco does have the better starting pitcher and as you said The Way points to these two teams. If you were to put a gun to my head I would take S.F. since the starting pitching advantage is more pronounced in this game.

I am a man with a plan for the second half of the season but I do need some help in putting it together. Every year, and this year will be no different, there will be a couple of teams that will make a run for the playoffs and there will be a couple of teams that will have epic collapes. Last year the Astros and Athletics were two teams that were given up for dead after horrible starts in the first half of the season. As I recall the Indians also pulled it together in the second half of the season.

If you KNEW which teams were going to come out in the second half and kick some ass in July, August and September and which teams were going to be exposed and pretenders or who were the teams who are going to just give up you would be able to make a few bucks wouldn't you think?

I know of several cappers that only play the first half of the season because they get killed in the second half. Reason this happens is because they stick to what worked in the first half and don't adjust their methods for the realities of the second half. We would all do well to look at the first half and the second half as two different reasons.

Not very reassuring when guns are needed to be put at peoples heads to make decisions....Well at least you said one thing the way calls for the games and thats what its all about...

Everyone please be safe....Also reiterate the words of the Alamo walk proud today unlike other days for many have fought for what we have....Many of us are here for one reason alone someone before us in our family tree decided this was a better place to be (think about that).....

I am going to post a little experiment thatho pefully will work and may be the foundation of out wagering plan for the second half. How I came up with these teams another story.

Detroit -104

Parlay

Reds/Astros
Reds/San Francisco

These are two parlays...if Reds loose it's all for naught but if one parlay wins then it's a good thing. Hope Detroit wins and one parlay wins and I will be happy. No playing regular unit.....amount for enterainment/experimental purposes only.

If Reds are losing or you think they are going to lose you can scramble and cover the second half of the parlay.

Don't know what I was thinking when I made the Reds the lynch pin of my parlay. If Detroit comes through I'll be down one unit. I parlayed SanFran/Minn and covered Arizona. Arizona pitcher is outstanding and D'backs are out of their funk. Trying to work my way out of my funk.

hello alamo and guys. happy 4th let me throw oakland out there as a 2nd half team again this year. they seem to start fresh every year with big player losses, but jell and play great ball late. they already seem to be on the upswing.

In my first post today I fessed up to being 0-5 L5 and today I managed to go 0-5 in one day for a startling 0-10 L10. Only bright spot is I didn't put more that $20 on any of these losers. The gambling gods want all the money I made on the recent 16-4 run but I was making triple diget wagers during that run. All I can do is laugh and keep playing small till the game starts to come back to me.

What is going on is that what I was working with during the 16-4 run is not producing any games for me to play. I was getting 5 to 8 games to work with and three days ago the number of games dropped dramatically. Today there were only two. Houston and San Francisco. Yesterday it was Arizona and Oakland. There will come a time after the All Star break when my handicapping method will start to produce games but until then I am going to have to be patient.

Hey tendog.

As you know good starting pitching is essential to long winning streaks and hot second halves of a baseball season. The teams that are going to fade are the ones that depend on their hitting to win games, those that depend on pitching will fair better over the next 82 games.

Oakland has: Zito, Haren, Blanton and Loaiza might be a good enough rotation for the A's to make a big push again this year. Oaklands bullpen been their main problem but most teams get their bullpens sorted out by the second half.

Will be out of town tomorrow...taking a look at tomorrows card and there are six games up for consideration.

Philadelphia, Washington, Milwaukee, Houston, Cleveland and LAA.

LAA are on the banned list along with Texas so that leave 5 games. Can I pick one winner? You bet I can. Washington -1RL *-104)

Marlins have not done will vs left handed pitchers being 6-12 on the year. O'Connor for the Nationals is coming off a poor outing but he has pitched well recently. I like to play pitchers coming off a poor outing since you can usually count on them to be focused. It also helps that the Marlins are left handed pitching impaired. I will not lose 11 straight games! Go Nationals!

Hitting .244 against lefties thats seems pretty impaired to me....Im riding this horse with you....

I think Houston, Minnesota, and Toronto are all teams that could easily win their respective divisions...They all have weaknesses yet share one thing...good or great pitching.....All have "powerhouse" teams to contend with in their divisions but do they have a shoot I think they do.

Alamo thoughts on these three?

Like the Yankees(-118) today to bounce back...I know Byrd (0 unearned, 6 hits in 6 last time on the mound against the yanks) is capable of making this one a nail-bitter but i just dont see them losing this one....

Wash and Yanks for me....

Its been a rough week for you Alamo but just like the Yankees did tonight you shall bounce back....18 runs and counting...guys I live in Miami and tell you what if somebody out there wants to invest on a team, get a stadium this team can be a contender by next year....the other day I saw the question will I rather have another shortstop in baseball other than Jeter...my answer was yes and thats H.Ramirez the kid is 22 and will be a star... Jacobs, Hermida, Uggla, Cabrera, and the pitching is well documented. Its a shame that their payroll is like 18 million if not mistaken not that is a joke....

Really liked the Yanks to bounce back last night and they did just that....I know thats against "they way" Alamo....Its my bounce back system...Todays team has to be "The Sox"...Wakefield should give up his 3 or 4 runs but I really think the bats will come alive today for "The Sox"...The over should be a popular pick....

My two cents:

"the way play":Mets(-170) Bucks just dont play on the road...Mets are trying to compensate for two series losses against THE YANKS AND SOX.....Better pitcher, bats, home....Play the RL-1 if you dont like the juice....

"Bounce back play":THE SOX(-154) Read above

"Sleeper pick": wont play it but i feel that its worth a look...Giants at home....

Alamo always welcome to your thoughts

The way calls for these teams today:Brew Crew (Cap pitching), LAA, and Mets

I rank them like this: 1-Mets 2-Brewers 3-LAA
