When best of 7 game Series are 2-1 for one side, I personally consider Game 4 to be so pivotal for the team trailing...

We have 3 of them today...

Any thoughts on how to approach them? :icon_conf

I have an idea...

Take the dogs b/c of the inflated spreads. Don't get caught up laying points with teams b/c the media has put a "must win" label on a team. Remember, they can still win the game, put in the world we live in as gamblers, the spread is what counts. Detriot and Dallas fall in to this situation. As for the Spurs, who knows. I have no opinion on that on. Just my two cents.

It's tough to play the dogs since 2 of them are coming off wins vs. the favs in the series.

Sometimes being the contrain is not as obvious as you would think.

Personally, I also don't believe in the "Must Win" strategy because it doesn't translate to point spreads especially when the team who must win is favored...

What I do believe in is going with who I consider to be the BEST TEAM, particularly if they are trailing 2 games to 1...

I think you are talking about Detroit Shrink, but your post is somewhat contradicting since it is pretty much a must win. It would be very hard for the Pistons to rally from 3-1.

In the other 2 series the better team leads.

Having said that the Pistons are worth a good look. And you consider how shoddy that win was for Indiana in game 3. . .

The Pistons opened up at -5.......so would advise passing the game if anybody should like DETROIT.

In fact, I personally will be looking at placing a wager on the HOME TEAM that is leading the series 2-1, and his getting a possible +6 as an underdog in what figures to be a low scoring game(total a mere 171).

Just got off the phone with a couple of my sportsbook manager friends from Vegas and they stated that this game is drawing very good two-sided action.........fwiw.

Have a good day,

Fish,

Some Money just rolled in on Pacers...

There is no way in hell that the game is going to 6 and if game closes off 5 1/2, I'd suspect 5 will be the closing number...

Getting back to how I approached today was to go with a ML parlay on Detroit and San Antonio...

I found a tad better than 10-9, meaning risking 1k should net you back a tad over 900 dollars if they both smply WIN the game outright...

With lines being very sharp at this time of year, this is not a bad way to go, imho, especially if you like the favorites in each of these games...

Its must win for Indy as well..they have to look at it the same way....Pacers plus all those points is a gift at home...Detroit is banged up and not firing on all Pistons.

Agree, just wishful thinking on my part.

ps- Skybook is currently giving away +6 110 for a $500 limit with their free half-point promo...........for those that like the Pacers and have accounts there, now may be the time to get down on the Pacers for a maximum of $500.

For what it is worth, this thread alone should alert gamblers to why they need multiple outs...

When I don't get the BEST number, it kills me and that doesn't happen very often....

It almost hurts more than Losing...

I had plus 5 the other night when the line closed at 1 in Miami game...

Even though I lost, it would have bothered me worse had the line move 4 points against me...

Great point Ken, it should also alert gamblers and cappers that they should do a little more digging for the right side other than team A is a 'must win'

I am having a hard time with people saying Detroit is a better team in this matchup. Indiana is just as good (if not better) in my opinion. You can't look at their record to judge this team. They played without their top 3 players for extended periods of time. Who else could have made the playoffs in this situation?

This team could have been the Champions last year and gave Detroit fits in last year's playoffs. Detroit is not as good as they were last year and I would say Indiana is a better team than they had last year. Granted, they lost Artest, but keep in mind they added Jackson. Reggie Miller fills the Artest role.

Indiana was 25-16 at home this year playing without their best players who are now all healthy and in the lineup. Detroit was 22-19 on the road SU this year.

Just curious how people are saying Detroit is the better team?

Regardless of the outcome, the wrong team is favored here. Getting the Pacers as a dog at home in this series just goes to show how inflated lines are due to public opinion.
