Martin Garcia is on Dortmund in the Kentucky Derby..... hmm

Hind site is always 20 -20 .

Now we know why Martin Garcia worked American Pharoah for Bob Baffert, trainer of both A P and Dortmund. The camp knew that Dortmund would set the pace or be up close prior to the PP draw no matter what. So, Baffert has Garcia work A P to see his strenghts and weaknesses if any. ...

Gary Stevens on Firing Line has no choice but to "daisy chain" Dortmund around the track when NO other horse when with Dortmund. Got to give Firing Line credit he has a fighting heart.

Victor Espinoza, commented after the race he had to get after American Pharoah really hard to go past Firing Line, thus the workout earlier comes into the forefront picture.

UAE Derby, especially European Horses, will become an also entry ,, and that is it.

Todd Fletcher just cannot get the distance from his trained horses that are in the May Derby.

Frosted was the only colt coming with any noticeable charge in the final quarter mile... If he stays healthy, Kiaran Mclaughlin could win the Belmont Stakes with him.

I do not foresee Dortmund racing in the Belmont Stakes.

Upstart, pulled up and walked across the finish line.


By the way, my pick to win the Kentucky Derby ----- CARPE DIEM with John Velazquez .... and Exacta C D with Firing Line and Dortmund underneath.

Thirty-two cracks of the whip are a lot.
In his first two races this year, American Pharoah hadn’t felt the sting of the jockey’s whip a single time. In the Kentucky Derby, he was cracked some 32 times.
