Victor is based on the West Coast circuit and he knows the rule they have out there .... limited number of use of the riding chop or "whip" in a horse race.

If the article is true in that he used the whip excessively on American Pharoah, Mr Victor Espinoza should be penalized very hard.

In comparison, the story above mentions Joel Rosario on Frosted ...... "Joel Rosario, who rode fourth-place finisher Frosted, rely much less on the stick to drive their horses to the finish line. Rosario hit Frosted only four times as he surged toward the leaders late in the Derby."

No Question in my mind .. American Pharoah was abused very badly by Victor Espinoza in the drive to the wire.

Count Espinoza's right shoulder actions .. that is the whip being used on A P...

Usually, when the race caller says " so and so has come under a ride"... that means to me, as a bettor, the animal is trying as hard as he/she can, but will not be able to finish past the front horse. Just my opinion.
