think at a quarter after this race i'd honestly say zanyatta would be the fav...assuming there is pace to keep rachael honest

obviously match race rachael wins on dirt almost every time.....match race would be pointless....just two totally different horses with totally different surface likings with totally different styles....

zanyetta answered the 1/4 question i had....rachael still hasn't

Zenyatta was very impressive at Oaklawn..

I love both girls very much.. Two of the best since Ruffian, and we probably wont see another one like them in over a decade..

i highly doubt rachael would "crush" her and honestly think zanyetta would win even on dirt....

at an 1/8th rachael would probably win IMO....she's probably like her dad...and a beast at an 1/8th...but only a very solid horse at a 1/4...medaglio could never win the BC....that last 1/8th gave him problems...came up short twice...

and besides mags...her mom was optimal in a one turn mile at CD...rachael isn't bred for a quarter.....

The race was unbelieveable . Gosh , can you imagine the money a match race between her and Rachel would bring. For God's sake, i hope their connections never let that happen.

but proven as a 4yo on dirt in DWC and stephen foster

yeah zanyetta has kris S on bottom so that says turf/plastic....but...

zanyetta definitely has the edge on stamina in her blood that's one thing i know

Street Cry was a dirt freak though.. Zenyatta's style doesn't fit dirt as well, but she is just as fast on it..

Her Oaklawn victory is proof of that.. She won that race easier than any other. She is bred for dirt

all my point is at a 1/4 with an honest pace on dirt i think zenyatta wins

at an 1/8th on dirt even with honest pace i think rachael wins

slow pace in either rachael wins

as they say pace makes the race (well on dirt at least)

on poly pace don't matter as much and speed horses stop...basically poly cappin' all you do is put a line through speed (in routes at least) and than shoot for longshots with some hope and pray....

Below is the link for the Official Chart of The Breeders' Cup Classic. Zenyatta was roughly 7.5 lengths behind the leader at the quarter pole. She ran the last quarter in or around 23 seconds flat. Pretty impressive when running a mile and a quarter.
