And never underestimate the power of pizza points. The SBR kids may not have real money on the games. But their interest in the games is high due to the pizza wagering.

I think TheRx is segregated in a way. Peeps who post in The OS rarely go down to the sub forums and vice versa. There's a popularity thing going on also. Like H.S. There's definitely something to that. I could see where Bashes would be good for the Forum. It brings people together.

Ty man.. cheers...
That is a twisted truth on the YOUTH of today.. i toataly think yiur spot on.. young kids are not finding there way to handicaping..

I guess if I wer to be completely honest its probably ESPNs fault?? With Trolls like Jamelle dykeHill.. that Toad was the final nail in the coffin of espn. And i guess that was the "gateway"? To loving sports??

Anyway.. more Losers that find their way here the better we will all do!

I watch very little of ESPN because they cover soccer and not hockey. Their political stance certainly doesn't help either. Some of the best nuggets of information are in SBNation and The Athletic. Sources we went to when we started playing games evolve, we have to also.

You hockey people just don't get it. Hockey is a regional, niche sport. It does not get good ratings on the whole nationally. Thus ESPN has no desire to pay to have the rights to the games.

It's all about the money.

Tate I like your idea of less sub forums in the other thread much more then this one .

If I owned the place with the traffic this place has now I would probably have 4 subforums Max.

This place don’t have the traffic for 40 sub forums .

This is place is like a country with 200 tv channels but only 100 citizens.

I would have offshore , political , RR , and all sports Under 1 sub forum and that’s it .

At least that would create the illusion that more people visit this place

slap,, cheers man,, I swear, no big deal,,, im just pointing out the hypocrasy,,, we can ask for something to be so,, but the PUBLIC makes things relevant/OR NOT,,,

noone really cares to grow as a handicapper,, its just an ODD crazy truth,,

I do an hour or three of handicapping research most every day. There are still some of us working hard at handicapping.

I know I'm not alone.

i guess I should bet Lakers, duke, and yankee games because they get good ratings on espn. I don’t believe I said they should cover hockey. I’m not going to support a channel that doesn’t show it, and I won’t support one who forces its political agenda when I want to watch sports.

This, we agree on. ESPN is garbage. But not because they don't show NHL games.. ;)

Can you imagine though how are viewing of sports would change had we not had access to ESPN all these years? I guess another network most likely would've stepped up but their live viewing is pretty damn good IMO.

I think rather than more sub forums, there should only be 2. Sports and Other. Possibly a 3rd, but that could be a rubber room where threads are put by the mods if not suitable to them.
