Nice story McIrish. You left out the part though where the scammer hacked into the books internal communications so they knew there was a problem with the software. You know, since nobody knew about the problem until the player called in to question the bet.

Mo - I thought I was told (or read) it was common knowledge to people betting that day they were having software issues. They couldn't close the races down so it was obvious to everyone? I could be wrong on that though, I have no idea. Again I am just going over this in my head and throwing out ideas, didn't mean to lose this guy over it.

You're an experienced horse guy Mo, tell me what you think went on. I am curious in all this. You think WWTS scammed this guy out of his money? I would be surprised if you really believe that.

No way they intentionally tried to scam him over $150 Pat, we all know they are too big for that. What I do think happened was their software screwed up causing a player to lose money. The player called them out on it and they told him tough luck. The player, rightfully so, got pissed. So here we are with a pissed off player and a big name book going head to head.

What will happen depends on WWTS though I expect them to pay the guy and wash their hands of this.

By the way, not sure what made you think I was a horse guy but you may have me mixed up with someone else.

It could go that way, just seems odd for this one player the software messed up. Of all the players and every bet this one they got wrong? A bet the player did not have a copy of either. I could be overly sensitive to players using these forums to extort books all the time. Just seems there is better ways to do it then act this way towards a respected book. Hammy did this exact thing when he tried to scam a place out of money. I have no idea what happened, I didn't think that story would affect Happy as strongly as it did though.

My Pop got turned in one year from a player who made a big bet on the SuperBowl and lost. He threatened to call the cops if he wasn't paid. My Pop said he would let the player off the hook for the bet but no way would he give the player one cent regardless of what the guy did. The player dropped a dime on him for it just like he said he would. Perhaps the old days are still in me but to turn this into a legal matter and have his family sending certified letters to the Australian government seems like overkill. Didn't win any favors with me. He brings this case to us at 9PM or so and an hour later is talking to lawyers about it? I don't know, just something doesn't seem right to me.....

this will be my last post..To answer your claim that "something doesn't seem right" as to why i was talking to an attorney 1 hour later. Truth is i had bought a 60 inch mitsubishi hdtv last week and had people over to watch the miami game at you guessed it.......9pm. One that just happened to be a corp. attorney on wall street. I know nothing of the law and only threw out what was told to me was an option...

Fair enough. You sure seem to have your ducks in a row, answer for everything don't ya.

BTW please don't invite me over to watch a ballgame on your new 60 inch Mitsubishi. You had guests over watching the game yet you posted at....

913PM
932PM
942PM
1007PM
1024PM
1143PM
etc...

They weren't all short posts either. How much socializing were you doing? Shocked you were able to fit in that opinion from the big Wallstreet corporate lawyer you are buddies with. Between the 913PM post and the 1007PM post he must have filled you in, maybe over at the punch bowl or something? Anyway sorry to see you leave......

just to let wwts know i am lucky enough to have an attorney in the family and are sending off a certified letter of complaint to the a.s.i.c (the equalivent of the sec)who overlooks and regulates your listing on the australian exchange. I told the supervisor that even though it is a small amount i dont like being taken. It might not and will probably not cause any repurcussions but you never know.
just as a sidenote i was just playing bj for a couple of bucks and i lost the first 12 out of 13 hands....i guess they are mad at me huh?

Oh one other thing Happy, I was just curious on this. In this post you said an attorney in the family was sending off the letter to the ASIC for them screwing you. Above I thought you said it was a Wallstreet corporate lawyer who had advised you on what to do? Was it two different lawyers here? Thanks for answering this last question....

So the Wallstreet corporate lawyer is now just your father in law that you referenced before? I was almost under the belief there was two bigshot lawyers advising you in the hour time frame or so that you were making those posts. Thanks Happy for clearing this up. As your father-in-law would say, I have no more witnesses.

Gee McIrish,
Now look what you did. happyday probably won't tell us what the CEO of WWTS has to say.

One other good thing about having a lawyer in the family happyday, he can give you free legal advise on other gambling matters.

This thread has turned pathetic. I guess the truth always comes out about someone.
