They are meeting right now to work out a contract in Ohio. This would be a huge surprise to Michigan fans.

They are discussing only...His WV contract has a 4 million dollar buyout. which is more than dbl what cheap ass Mich thinks they can sign a coach for per yr.....I cant believe the guy would leave a top 10 program to go to Michigan to make less money.........

Hearing it is being disscussed also.

Why wouldnt he leave WVU to coach a major program. Strike while the iron is hot as his stock is as high as it will probably ever get and top 10 jobs dont become availbile that much. Pretty sure 99% of the people in CFB circles will tell you coaching at Michigan and all of it's resources would be better than coaching at WVU LONGTERM.

Personally, I don't see the Michigan program as anything special. College football is more balanced these days then days of the past. West Virginia has been built into a solid program with it's own recruiting base. Why leave it for Michigan? Money doesn't buy happiness. Just ask Bobby Petrino, Nick Saban, et al.

Michigan is a better program than WV, better known nationally too. If Michigan don't ante up, they won't get Rodriguez either.

WVU you may be pounding some beers in frustration tonight.

No, celebration maybe!

As for me, I'm tired of his shit. The way it sounds, a lot of the fan base is tired of it too. If he doesn't want to be in Morgantown, then hit the f'kin road!

They played ball before him, they'll play after him.

michigan doesnt pay less than wvu. he is making 1.9 at wvu. michigan pays more than that.

he would be stupid not to take the job.

get out of the minor leagues and take a step up.

exactly. The exposure from all angles at Michigan is 5X bigger than WVU.

What I really hate are these buyout clauses. If a coach decides to quit on his own then he shouldn't get crap. If he is fired then I can see the buyout clause kicking in.

I haven't had a chance to get to Petrino yet. Not a Michigan fan either. Heck, I hope they take another month to find the right coach.

Think Petrino would be interested in WV?

I guarantee you, they could play every year for the next million years straight, and WVU would NEVER lose to Appalachian State.

Dont forget their loss to Pittsburgh was the exact same spread as Michigan's was to Appalachian st (around 30). Both loses were awful but I would bet WVA cost them WAY MORE in the long run.

Puuuhhleeese. Are you comparing the Pitt program to Appalachian State? Do you think Appalahian State could beat Pitt even once in twenty games? Pitt is WVU's big rival, for gosh sake. The game was their Super Bowl, and they were sky high for it.

Yes I believe App st and Pittsburgh would be a good game. App St is a POWERHOUSE for their level of football. The difference has to be similar or how can you explain the lines, I will go with the experts opinion and the lines to base an opinion on this. I would think at a neutral site between Pitt and App st it would be close spread. You have to look at the spreads as a barometer. Times have changed it is not 1974 anymore, football has changed alot.
