Would you want a woman beside you in combat?

At this point I am way to old to serve in the military, but their is no way I would ever want a woman to be by my side in combat..

You listen to the media too much. Women already serve by our side in combat. Women drop bombs from F-15s already. Women are on security patrols and pull the trigger. They already do the job.

And if she gets through bootcamp and all the other hurdles you must go thru to be next to me in combat that would make her qualified.

But I will tell you guys the physical fitness standards for men and women are different. I will tell you two women tried out for Marine Corps OCS and washed out. Those are facts.

I've been on convoys with countless women and I'm sure gays (don't know for sure). When you are depending on them and they on you you don't care who it is. As long as they have a weapon, a full magazine and know how to shoot, I don't care who they are.

OCS for women have been around for years....I am a graduate of Marine OCS....failure rates still remain high, not easy....

I believe I read that all those in combat roles will have the same physical fitness requirements, regardless of gender.

Going to be real hard as they lack a ton of upper body strength. I think my max is 57 pushups in a minute while a woman my age is around 17 or so.

Frankly I don't care who would be side/side with me in knowing that they passed the tests and were ready. I'll take this any day over a guy that is there because he's a guy and maybe marginally passed or doesn't have a clue.
