What part of not as impressive do you not understand?
Yes FGC is very talented.
Just that fact alone is incredible.
Save me the Florida has a lot of talent lingo. I can name you 10 Florida D1 schools that have not done squat.
Just the fact that a basketball program that did not exist 6 years ago and was able to hire a great coach and in 6 years( and there 2nd year if NCAA eligibility) not only get to the tourney for the first time in there history but to blow out 2 programs that have been around for over 100 years.
You expect me to be just as impressed with George Mason who has had a basketball program for 100 years to be just as impressed(or more so in your case) as I am with a program that did not even exist just a few years ago?
You are taking some of the final result and not giving that final result the credit during the process.
Yes they are very talented. Thats part of the reason im impressed. Just the fact that they were able to get these players in such a short period of time is part of the reason im impressed. You are downplaying there accomplishment without making that process part of the accomplishment.
With the way CBB talent is distributed these days, it is impressive, don't get me wrong but to make the Sweet 16 is one of the top five things you've ever seen in sports is over-the-top but that's just my opinion.
George Mason has a basketball program but what they get for recruits is horrible. I'm pretty sure in only 6 years, this FGC team has far better than GM ever had.
Again, George Mason beat a Tom Izzo team that had Shannon Brown. They beat a Roy Williams team with Hansbrough and Danny Green and a Calhoun team that had four I REPEAT four NBA draft picks in Hilton Armstrong, Marcus Williams, Rudy Gay and Josh Boone.
