Would be the all time greatest thing to ever happen in sports if FGCU won it all..

i'm just glad these games are being played in a place like philly. actually a full crowd for once. having been too many 1 and 2nd round games, these events are much better when NOT played right next to a big school. for example, i've been and it sucks when it becomes a home game for one or two schools, as the other games are irrelevant. good to see a neutral crowd get behind these guys.

i do not like the pod system.

Im sorry but 2 blowout wins for a team that did not exist 6 years ago makes my top 5 most impressive feats in my sports viewing lifetime.

Well I stand behind my ridiculous post considering the fact that no 15 has ever made it to the sweet 16 in the history of the tournament.
If that feat is nothing special(not top 5 worthy) how come its never happened before?

I think Anaheim's run last year through the NHL playoffs would even be more impressive.

Chop, CBB is not as good now as it was in the 80's and 90's. The #2 seed doesn't have the talent separation as it used to back when guys stayed in college longer. That's why you've seen three #15 seeds advance in the last two years. The talent levels are comparable now. These guys on FGC are just as talented as a ton of Division I players.

Starting a DI basketball program is easier than a DI CFB team. A shit ton of talent in Florida.

I am predicting it right now.
I will bet someone $50 straight up. I have no inside knowledge.

FGC will be on the cover of SI this week. Mark it down.

Chop, you don't find an #11 seed from the Patriot league who beat UCONN and UNC making the Final Four more impressive than a #15 seed making it to the Sweet 16?

Cool to watch but not unexpected with the kids on top teams leaving for the NBA after a year or two.

Nope, not as impressive.
Huge difference in an 11 and a 15.

Are you being serious? This is not a #15 seed and you can tell that by watching them play. Do you really think Oregon should be a #12 seed?

George Mason beat Michigan St., UNC and UCONN to make it to the Final Four as a #11 seed. FGC has beaten Georgetown and a mediocre SDSU team. GM won 4 games and FGC won 2.

I mean seriously Chop...this #15 seed has already beat #2 seed Miami of Florida this year. They are not a #15 seed team.

What part of not as impressive do you not understand?

Yes FGC is very talented.
Just that fact alone is incredible.
Save me the Florida has a lot of talent lingo. I can name you 10 Florida D1 schools that have not done squat.
Just the fact that a basketball program that did not exist 6 years ago and was able to hire a great coach and in 6 years( and there 2nd year if NCAA eligibility) not only get to the tourney for the first time in there history but to blow out 2 programs that have been around for over 100 years.

You expect me to be just as impressed with George Mason who has had a basketball program for 100 years to be just as impressed(or more so in your case) as I am with a program that did not even exist just a few years ago?

You are taking some of the final result and not giving that final result the credit during the process.

Yes they are very talented. Thats part of the reason im impressed. Just the fact that they were able to get these players in such a short period of time is part of the reason im impressed. You are downplaying there accomplishment without making that process part of the accomplishment.

The other thread shows Chop is a biased fan of this team. His credibility on this topic is nil.
