There is NO WAY the Mariners finish with a winning record. None. Zero. Nada. Do not let ESPN brainwash you. Seattle is garbage.

HAHAHAHAHA. That's probably the funniest thing I've ever read on this forum.

I hope you enjoy watching them win the division.

Budworth, you are way too caught up in the moment. We are about two series through the year. Seattle has been without its closer for most of the games, and one of the games when he was there he blew it big time. The bullpen is better then it has showed and the starting pitchers are better then any others atleast in the AL West. Have you looked at some of the numbers put up so far by the Seattle starting pitchers? I mean they basically took their #2 and 3 and just slid them down. Oakland and Texas do not have the depth to hang with Seattle or LAA.

As far as Seattle hitting. Anyone following baseball stats basically wrote this team off when a they said that Seattle will have the lowest scoring team this year. Lets remember what exactly that means. All it means is that by their numbers Seattle has the largest chance of scoring the least runs according to them. But, I am sure they would also give Seattle a chance to score the most runs at some chance odds. It is meaningless in the scheme of things since most of the chances are so closely together. Take for instance the M's have scored more runs then the Tigers.

"there is no way the mariners finish with a winning record" haha, yes shows you know exactly what you are talking about.lol. Give this division a couple weeks and Seattle and LAA will be duking it out like it is supposed to.

If I were a futures bettor, I would grab some Oakland. They are automatically discounted in comparison to Seattle and LA because they have players in their lineups and rotations who are lesser known.

The Angels lineup is very good. However, there are some questions in their rotation with the injuries - never been a big fan of John Garland, who always has a high batting average against and has a ton of balls put into play on him. Ervin Santana was highly touted, and has started OK, but was terrible last season. Joe Saunders is serviceable, but not sure if he is as good as he is pitching right now. Weaver has been very solid. So, without Lackey and Escobar, they don't really have much more than Seattle or Oakland in the rotation.

Seattle bullpen has been awful so far and even with the return of Putz, you still have to get him the ball with a lead in the 9th. Their bats haven't been very good so far either, but I think some of their hitters like Vidro and Johijma will come around. Overall not a great lineup, but I don't think its that terrible. Rotation wise, Batista and Silva give up tons of hits, and Washburn only slightly better. Bedard and Felix are the guys, which again, puts them pretty much even with everyone else's rotation in the division, outside of Texas.

I think Oakland will be hurt by the loss of Duch. I think he has potential to be a very good starter once he builds up the endurance.

Blue My Boy,

their rotation depth past Bedard and Felix is not an advantage. As I have already demonstrated, their performance is easily replicated by journeyman minor league players. You probably misses that, it's below.

Mariners looked great today. Gotta love having that veteran expensive back of the rotation.

Tigers are doing great with their 1000 run offense too aren't they.

:hammerit

Relevant how?

Also, in another post I chastised the board for even considering that the tigers team would score 1000. Last team to do so were the 98 Indians.

Relevant? Are you dense?

Making assumptions of how a team will do for the entire year based on their week 2 performance is just plain ignorant.

The tigers have one of the most potent lineups in the majors and they're dead cold right now. So are the yankees. Guess that means they'll suck all year huh?

No. I am basing my projections off last year's team. The Mariners run differential wasn't anywhere close to justifying their record, and as such, they will regress this year because they got worse personnel wise, and the team also got older.

Angels win it. Lackey will be back early may and will win 13-16 games still.

The strength of the Angels team in Scioscia's era has been the bullpen. This year's version is unimpressive to say the least. Speier is a joke. Shields velocity is on the decline. K-Rod has been hittable for a couple of years now, lacking command on his fastball. Bullpen depth is non-existent.

The A's are a feisty bunch and battle through every AB. Casilla, Devine and Brown throwing gas out of the bullpen-- all have superior stuff than Street. They are pretty impressive early on, but offensive fire-power is lacking.

KRod has been hittable since last August, when he originally hurt his ankle.

The Mariners are totally done and will not be over the .500 mark this season.
