Yes, they are favored to win it all, but I thought them a very bad favorite to win it all. I posted that before season started. It was near even money ( maybe +125 to win WS).
By position:
Catcher: Posada.. Capable, above average, nice player
1B: Giambi is ???, Tino average... veteran winner, older
2B: Womack... low guy there for now... seems adequate, maybe big bargain !
SS: Jeter Good hustle player, proven winner.
3B : A-rod Out of position, expensive, maybe cursed, he's a ???
LF: Matsui... solid
CF: Bernie: weak, IMO
RF: Sheff...... injury prone
Starters are old or ???
Closer ...Rivera seems ???
This team isn't a team, it's an elderly bunch of individuals. They likely capture the wild card, maybe win the division with additions but they are basically what's wrong with MLB. They lack the chemistry that defines a team ! I doubt they win WS this year, or play in it. They may even miss play-offs. I'd like to see odds on that prop !
