Yes, they are favored to win it all, but I thought them a very bad favorite to win it all. I posted that before season started. It was near even money ( maybe +125 to win WS).

By position:

Catcher: Posada.. Capable, above average, nice player

1B: Giambi is ???, Tino average... veteran winner, older

2B: Womack... low guy there for now... seems adequate, maybe big bargain !

SS: Jeter Good hustle player, proven winner.

3B : A-rod Out of position, expensive, maybe cursed, he's a ???

LF: Matsui... solid

CF: Bernie: weak, IMO

RF: Sheff...... injury prone

Starters are old or ???

Closer ...Rivera seems ???



This team isn't a team, it's an elderly bunch of individuals. They likely capture the wild card, maybe win the division with additions but they are basically what's wrong with MLB. They lack the chemistry that defines a team ! I doubt they win WS this year, or play in it. They may even miss play-offs. I'd like to see odds on that prop !

I put up 500 to make 200 on the Yanks. I figured it was a done deal with Johnson going against Nomo who was lit up by the Red Sox. I saw the line go up to -350 so I thought I was getting a bargain at -250. So much for that!

Maybe I'm wrong but the Yankees may be the oldest team in major league history.

They may not even be the oldest team this year looking at the gIANTS.

All shops cleaned up on the Yankee game last night. This line opened at 250 someplaces and closed as high as -370. Line only moves on money so what does that tell you??
