Namath and Bradshaw were before my time but I know this. Only thing you ever hear about Namath is some "guarantee" and all you hear about Bradshaw is 4 Super Bowl rings. I hear people say put Archie Manning on the Steelers and Bradshaw on the Saints, that no one would ever know the name Terry Bradshaw. People used to talk about Tom Brady as "such and such # of rings" but then he started playing off the charts and its not mentioned too much now because he can singlhandedly win games when early in his career that wasn't the case.

Dan Marino tops the list for me... Not saying he wasn't good.. but not an elite top 5 QB like a lot of people have him at.. Lost a lot of big games.. seemed like it was never his fault either...

I still say Drew Brees should be at the top of the list, even when the saints was winning, how many game did this clown win away from home, reg season and playoffs, not many

Matthew Stafford is up there as far as current qb's. Has the most physically gifted receiver since Moss. Has put up numbers but somwhow never result in wins. Im not talking super bowl wins but just general wins. Coming out of high school, it was basically a given he would be a future #1 pick according to scouts.

I tell you I am always skeptical when someone's greatest strength is their arm strength. That means they are completely trained in their own mind to always rely on that no matter what. Same goes with the whole "mobile" qb. I loved to hear when Vick was in his prime " you just have to teach him to be a pocket passer"....Ok, same goes for almost every qb in the world.

Peyton Manning too

Guy was only good when all the conditions were perfect and in his favor. Horrible playoff QB too. Yet he is in every single conversation for best ever

John Elway by far!

Sorry to burst this media sensations bubble but I just can't take everyone rating Elway as one of the greatest ever! Because of the great comebacks (which he put them in that predicament with his AWFUL play for 56 minutes) and the way he ended his career (probably on the most complete offence ever!) everyone thinks he's so great. Let's look and the numbers. First his drive. The drive would not have been necessary if he played better during the first 56 minutes, in which he had a QB rating of 50 with no tds and one pic completing less than 50% of his passes. Second when you compare him to his contemporaries, Montana, Marino, Young, Elway can't even hold their jockstraps! Elway had 8 1000 yard rushing seasons by a running back during his career but couldn't crack 80 (once) on the QB rating, until The Bronco were STACKED with talent. By comparison Montana had 4 1000 yard seasons Young 3 and Marino ONLY ONE!!! Yet these QBs stats destroyed Elway! Rings are a TEAM STAT not a player. Qbs don't play on defence or special teams. The 49ers had numerous seasons where their leading rusher did not even have 600 yards!!! Just because he was exciting to watch, big arm, risk taking does not make him great! Finally that Denver team was so stacked that even without Terrell Davis, Brian Griese led the league in passing and Jake Plummer made the pro bowl!!!! Everyone forgets how Elway played during the ENTIRE game in his famous comebacks, but only remember a small segment of the game. Good qb yes, one of the greatest ever...not even close!

This was an easy question and I agree 100%. Most over rated QB ever and I have said the same things in the past. If you are great you dont have to come back in the game. Only won the super bowl when he only had to hand the ball off. I think use to think Joe Montana was the greatest of all time but looking at the numbers....Steve Young has great stats. Brady by the end of his career may end up with the best numbers.

The real question is where does Peyton end up? Great numbers regular season but in the big games...betting against him has been $$$.

Take that back. In his prime, the Patriots had his number but who else was exactly beating them then? He misses the season they go 2-14 yet when he was there they were good for at least 12 wins every year. And not to mention, he kinda has set a few records. Calling Manning overated is nuts even a common sense Patriot fan would admit that...I don't rip on you like others but that is crazy.

P. Manning benefited from playing in the AFC South, just like Luck. Brady has benefited from playing in the AFC East, but he also has beaten the shit out of every other team and won 4 SB's.

Manning overated is nonsense. So going 12-4 or 13-3 is just because he plays in the AFC South. Besides the Texans, the Jags and Titans have been good at times during his tenure in Indy. He has the most wins all time as a qb but it only because he played in the AFC South. He also played 4 years in the AFC East. 2nd year went 13-3 in the East.

This is comical. All time leader in wins, all time passer, all time TD's but since he only won 1 SB he stinks. And he had perfect quarterback rating in the PLAYOFFS before. Has won what 4 or 5 MVP's. Could have had perfect season if Dungy wasn't a pussy. Never played with an above average defense.
