Curious as to how many posters actually get up in the morning and go to some shitty job?

I haven't had to do this since the awful spring of 1995 cheersgif

Do you ever think that society tricks us into craving a lifestyle that we don't need and working at a job we don't like for products we don't want?

But don't you think that living a simpler life, looking after your own needs in a more simple and satisfying way is preferable to ruining your health for that promotion to get the money to buy the 60 inch TV?

My point being that society has programmed us to want to consume in ever greater quantities and has us chasing $$ like a hamster on an exercise wheel for products and or lifestyle that we might not even want if we could view it objectively

BTW, who do you like in LA Baltimore tonight?

I get up in the morning but my job isn't shitty.

I'd venture to say 50% of the posters here have a career, 25% not really a career but gainfully employed and 25% are total losers with no ambition, no job, no relationships and amped up on whatever their drug of the day is.

Did it for 5 years, even worked on the oil fields in 2 on 2 off rotations. Never will do that again. But now I work at home as a contractor. Wouldn't care about doing the office gig again, but it's fun right now. Get paid a decent amount to talk shit online! Sometimes I can work 8 hours in a week but get paid for 40. Only problem is I have to be at a computer or be able to access a computer all day for them to allow me to work at home. Plus if they call me to be in a meeting I have to go, so I can't be in Hawaii on the beach doing this which sucks.

Nothing wrong with trying to better your life for you and your family just don't be consumed with it.

Are you trying to rationalize opting for a simpler lifestyle by thinking everyone who doesn't has a shitty job just so they can buy a 60 inch?

Not saying you are but it does seem like people who take that road less traveled tend to think everyone else who doesn't go the counter-culture route is miserable when infact a lot aren't.
