tipping is not part of the culture here and gladly so. things like taxi and bar and food workers do not expect or get any tips.

some of you guys sound like you're proud to be a cheap skate. drop a five spot for a dollar fifty cup of coffee, it's good for the soul.

also, tipping cooks so underrated. the cooks work harder than the servers and they decide who gets the choicest sides and the baseball cut. I'll send those boys a round most of the time and sometimes I'll catch a surf and turf when I only ordered a steak. :toast:

i'm a pretty reasonable tipper....never thought about tipping the mail carrier....hell, the fed ex guy runs up, rings the doorbell, and by the time i get to it he's already half way down the street....delivery always, haircuts, although i tip the asian lady more because she does a little extra....waitresses, depending on the service, i've tipped as much as 20 bucks (not so much these days, the calculator in the brain is always computing how much i have left to buy a pack of smokes the next day)

so yeah, i tip people who don't really deserve it, basically the standard 10%....only remember one time i didn't tip.....ordered dominoes, order was an hour late, guy finally calls when he's like 20 seconds from my house, and when i open the door he's all carefree and acting like we're best buds.....he lingered after i got my pizza, guess he thought i was still gonna tip him, i just shut off the porch light and closed the door....all he would have needed to do is call and tell me some bullshit about being late, you know, act like he gave a shit....whatever

also the last time i ordered delivery from there.....last thing you want is to get the same guy the next time you order and he throws a fart into the pizza box

I was a 20% and up tipper when in Boston, but since moving to Portland I've noticed the servers/bartenders are as easy going as everyone else and take their time filling my glass. To make it worse, tenders in MA don't even make minimum wage whereas here these guys are making $8+/hour... I've never and will never withhold a tip completely, but I've definitely adjusted over the last two months.

In bars that I haunt, I always over tip. Its only a few bucks and it can gain you a few favors.

Well then ....your comments are sort of meaningless, then.....

This isn't about how things are done in Asia....more like USA/ Canada.

No offense intended, but Asian methods don't work here...we aren't in Asia ( 99% of us).

Not tipping delievery people is pretty dick thing to do. As they don't make much at all, plus they could fuck with your order if you do it habitually.

I don't think anyone besides servers at casinos deserve tips. It seems like a hinderance to your bankroll that could add up if you are a frequent player and serious about what you're doing.

Then again, I don't play casino games much, so I guess I don't know much about the culture.

A casino dealer also depends on tips, but I tip the nurse ( Cocktail waitress), regularly....I want my drink....the dealer is unimportant, but I'll try to throw a toke every now and then. if winning.

Just the way it is, somebody will always deal the cards, I want my booze.

you have almost 30 thou posts on an internet gambling forum. lol so my guess is unless you are ordering delivery food to your home several days per week, you do not leave the house enough times for tipping to be a concern for you. (<)<

How about the Dealer when he gives you AA and you win a big hand? I never tip more than $1.

well for one its very tough to win a huge pot with A's. But yes if the hand goes anyplace past the flop I tip a buck.

For you not to tip a person that brings food right to your door is sad. If you are that poor and broke don't order food for delivery. Most of your post do seem to portray you as a broke ass loser.

I only tip for things I can't do myself. I don't tip at resturants or delivery drivers. I do tip my urologist.
