i am very confident one of these three will be in the sweet sixteen:

new mexico state
akron
massachusetts

and one of the better obscure sleepers, not in terms of winning the game but rather the ability to cover a large number, is delaware state. those brothers get after it on defense.

Excellent one. Especially if they get a team that wants to play up-tempo. They will slow it down and grind you on "D".

ROFLMFAO.... I think he was talking about the NCAA sweet sixteen, not the NIT sweet sixteen, Fish. At 13-10 they're going to have to hustle to make the Round of 64 much less the sweet sixteen.

Currently 4th place in the BIG TEN!

Currently 4th in the Big Ten... and 86th on the RPI as of today.... if the season ended today they wouldn't sniff the NCAA tourney. The days of the major conf getting 7 or 8 teams with barely .500 records are over.

As of now, can only see three Big 10 teams making the Tourney. Tough year in the Big 10.

Can see Akron, Wash St making it to the Sweet 16. Always a MVC team in there too. That conference can play the D.

Wash St is a real contener for Sweet 16.

Would also like to throw the Hoyas into the mix...A team I had ranked #5 in the country to start the year, I think they really could go all the way.

Hoyas play great perimeter D. Marquette could be in the 16 at the end too.

The CAA representative....ODU, Drexel, or VCU

VCU should only possibly lose one more game this season (at ODU). I'm hoping they make it to at least the CAA semifinal and then lose so the CAA can get more than one team.

As for the CAA team who can make the most noise in the tourney, I still say it's Hofstra. They have one of the most talented backcourts in the nation, and despite underachieving this season, could really give some teams trouble in the Dance. I'd put Loren Stokes up there with any guard in the country.

Drexel would also be a tough draw for someone. They aren't as talented offensively as others, but those boys D up, and a couple of their losses have been when they've been missing their best player. They're the ONLY CAA team who has a great nonconference resume.

Don't think ODU will be able to make it all the way through the CAA tourney...but then again, last year they were the most talented team and shit the bed, this season they might surprise some people.

VCU, as good as they've been this season, is way too guard/perimeter-oriented. They're really overachieving.

I think the mid-majors are overdone this year. One of the best classes ever for freshman should equalize the effects of mid major upper classmen. Last year college ball was feeling the effects of the NBA age limit and it showed.

I look at some of these tough teams from the power conferences:

Virginia-- Singletary and Reynold are studs. In a tournament that can be dominated by guard play --these guys could make a big run.

Arizona--- One of the most talented teams in the country--very capable of winning 6 in a row.

Stanford-- Love this team. Think that Lopez is very special inside and this team is very smart, could be very dangerous.

Kansas State--Very well coached--decent guards and an outstanding senior in Cartier Martin-- they have a 7'0'' kid that is a factor on the defensive end.

Of the mid-majors I think Creighton could be tough but not impressed with Drexel and bruiser flint.

Davidson, UNLV, BYU are flying way under the radar.

Ohio St is ridiculously good, but not really a "dark horse" other than to win the national championship.
