Need a little help. Starting to plan a week or 10 day vacation in June. Me and the wife have a 5 week old baby. So by June he will be 5 or six months old. Don't want to fly to too far. We live in California so considering Hawaii or Mexico. Looking for tropical. I like to sit at the pool/beach with cocktail service and a book. Need to have a bar with a couple tvs close by the pool.

This is our first child so we don't know what to expect for a child at that age and what amenities we should be looking for.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thats over by Cancun right?

Yes
Short drive from airport, great lil town and some nice resorts to pick from. You said maybe Hawaii, if you go there, Maui is the Isl for sure.

Why not do something different...........

Everybody and their pet gerbils go to places like ARUBA, Costa Rica, Florida, New York City, Hawaii, Jamaica, Cancun, etc., etc.

Go visit the upper MIDWEST in summer........Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan.

You will not be arriving home hashing the same boring stories with your neighbors who did the samething in years past.

The MIDWEST is an uncharted treasure to most westerners and southerners of the United States...............and it is a shame.

You're right and I would like to explore that part of the country. Maybe some other time and more than likely in an RV with a few months to burn.

I really don't care about telling stories/lies to the neighbors either. It's just I love the beach and the tropical weather.

Live right on Clearwater Beach.....find it pretty boring.

I highly suggest going on a cruise. I took my 10 month old on a cruise, and he loved it. Very convenient (and you will not believe how inexpensive) way to travel and see different places and countries. Its so easy to roll out of bed, go eat with the family within 5 minutes, and do stuff on board on go offshore and walk around pushing the baby stroller. Easiest thing we ever did. I suggest Carnival, they are very cheap and the quality of the product is good (IMO). They are also very family friendly.

Didn't think of that. Never been on a cruise before. I'll have to check it out. That sounds like a good idea.

Don't most lines have tables that you can play on once you get in international waters?

Yes. And poker too. I paid for my first cruise with Carnival at the poker table. Sea was full of Fish, if you know what I mean.

Just a thought if you have friends thinking on a trip at the same time.

I dont like the big resort hotels, (except the Atlantis Im hitting in 2 weeks thx to skybook:103631605 ) so depending on the buget, we rented a house on the beach for 450 a night. Thats splitt between 2 couples, about the same thing you'll be paying at a nice resort. Best thing I've done on Vacation.

Aloha
Have fun
