Bama a classic "Bully" team. They can run over the opposition if they get up quick. But, if it turns into a contest, they become very ordinary. Extremely lucky to beat LSU when they got pushed all over the field in the second half. They were hanging on for dear life against Georgia, and their effort against A&M once they got behind at home was disgraceful. If ND survives the first quarter they will win, and likely handily.

They are the #1 team in the country. Why are they the #1 team in the country? Because of their defense. Period.

because they went undefeated playing in tough road enviroments... not because they blasted the other best teams in the country.....

do you believe they would be #1 defense. #1 in the country if they played in the SEC?

wait wait wait... better point...

If they were truly the number 1 team in the country, would they be a 9.5 point underdog?

Didn't we learn last year that if you give Nick Saban 45 days to prepare for one team's offense that he will totally shut that offense down?

That and the fact that it was the best defense I have seen in 25 years of Collge football. Also, helps when the other team can't throw the forward pass.

Nick's bowl record isn't overally impressive (Not 100%, but I believe he is 7-6).

Why wouldn't they, aside from TAMU and UGA, whose offense in the SEC scares you?

Connor Shaw keep DCs up at night? LSU's Mettenberger?

I just think FL, LSU and BAMA all have better defenses....

If this game was against Georgia... South Carolina... Texas A&M... I am not taking ND in any of them....

Also take FSU Oregon over ND....

I am just not on the bandwagon....

It isn't about being on the bandwagon. Neither team has played too many dynamic offenses. When Bama played good offenses: UGA and TAMU. They both scored at least 28. Michigan isn't a great offense. MSU, ND all held them under 13 points. Michigan scored 21 vs Ohio State and 7 came on a 60 yard D Rob run. My point is, that Bama is a very good football team, but just like ND, they haven't played a lot of great offenses.

ND played one great offense all year and that was OU. Yes, TAMU held them in check, but remember a couple of things, A&M was very good defensively this year and OU did move the ball very well against TAMU. Landry failed to a couple of open check downs on 3rd down in the quarter and that was the difference for OU's offense. ND held them to 6 points basically. Kenny Still scored with less than a minute to go in the game.

For my money, Oregon is probably the best team in the country. You want to sit here and say FSU, UGA, TAMU are all better than ND, but you know what, people are underestimating ND. If ND had been around and successfull the past few seasons, this line would be 4 points. They absolutely punched OU in the mouth in Norman. South Carolina barely beat an average UM team without its top 2 CBs. UGA gave up a ton of points to an average Nebraska team. I still think TAMU, LSU, and Florida are every bit as good as Bama. The difference is that Bama lost at the right time. I believe if TAMU's game vs LA Tech isn't postponed, they beat UF. That was their 1st game of the season.

You think all these teams are better than ND, but the reality is, good teams don't lose by 28 like UGA did to USCe. Bama is good but they aren't the '09 & '11 teams.

Maybe one of the most biased posts I have ever read.

I'm just saying heads up...

I am taking
Alabama
Oregon
Florida State
LSU
Florida
Georgia
South Carolina
Texas AM
All of over ND.....

at 9.5 it's not squares... 65% of the money on ND and line went UP that's sharp money....

ND had a tough schedule because of the away games it wasn't tough opponents.....

USC, MSU, OU

That looked good on paper until you see how they all played

hard to argue that ND is the #1 team in the country as nearly a double digit dog on a neutral field

Defying, I didn't realize 65% were ND. What JB & I are saying is that if the line were 4, everyone and their brother would be on Bama.
So why not make the line 7.5 if ND is truly an underdog upset special?
Get all those stupid Alabama redneck bettors to drown themselves and buy down to 6.5 and lose the game and major juice.:think2:
