Have you looked into Neurofeedback? It may be worth a shot. It is a treatment that many could easily consider to be a scam but I promise you it is a legit treatment for several conditions. Basically, the sessions bring your brain wave activity to hitting frequencies that either go away from under or over arousal, depending on what you are trying to treat. Multiple research studies have been done on the effects of Neurofeedback & it concludes that it does lead to improvement when a number of sessions are completed. Thought I would just let you know about it.

I've heard so many stories about kidney stones I really count myself lucky I haven't had them. I do drink a ton of water.
I did get food poisoning once from Arby's in 1997, I remember it like it was yesterday and still won't eat there.
Worst pain I've ever felt was a wrist hyperextension sprain. Was walking backwards pressure washing and tripped, tried to brace myself as I fell. I saw every finger bend back and touch my arm like it was in slow motion. So painful I instantly started dry heaving. That shit hurt insanely bad for at least a week; I couldn't even sleep. Wasn't right for 6 months. Think I would have been better off if it broke.

I got pretty badly injured in college. I broke my iliac crest and had a 2 inch deep gash. While in the ER a male nurse came in to clean the womb. With no warning he stuck a needle in wound for local anesthesia. My automatic reaction was to swing on the guy. I hit him the face with a back hammer first. He yelled at me and I bit down and cried like a bitch. I also broke my patella in half and tibia and had a knee brace. I guess they put it on too tight because I was laying in the hospital bed and out of nowhere had sharp excruciating pain. Apparently, and I have no recollection of this at all, my mom was talking on the phone. I start slapping her leg and grabbed the phone and told my dad "we can't fucking talk" and hung up on him. A nurse came in and took the brace off. They thought I had a blood clot.

One other thing. I also broke my medial malleolus or interior ankle. The bone was actually shaved down. So at one point I was hopping around on crutches using the leg with the broken knee which was same side as the fractured hip. My ankle was so muffed up that I couldn't put pressure on it for months. I had 2 debridement surgeries to remove tar and whatever else. The 3rd was reconstructive with flap surgery. Basically they stuff the area with cadaver fat and then stretch the skin and add a skin graft. I don't know if it had to do with multiple surgeries within a short period of time but waking up from the last was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was maxed out on pain med, probably because your breathing is off. They told me be quite and we can't give you anything else.

brutal. nursing is tough...some lose empathy/compassion over time, become fried. Can become disturbingly thick skinned, a coping mechanism . Treating 'objects'.

had a cycling accident years ago, flew off the bike, loss consciouness, no recollection. Broke right zygoma , got crazy lucky. Badly swollen , and a gash under the eye. At the ER got a young female doc, she was kind. Explained all , kept my eyes on her eyes as she was giving the local anasthetic, she was a cool customer. Impressive. She even called me at home the following day to see how i was doing. Anyway, was a shit show , had to be cleared by opthalomolgy before the plastic surgeon could 'tap the zygoma ' back in place-- that's how he worded it, haha he was a cool guy.........

When I cracked the head of femur in half while skiing, they took me the rest of the way down the hill on a tabogan to the ambulance. That in itself was akin to having my hair on fire. next, they loaded me into an ambulance to then tell me the main road was out and they would have to go the long way up and down a winding mountain. I remember them giving me morphine and, when it has ZERO affect, they called the ER and asking for authorization to give me more because of the look on my face. That was a MF'er of a day.

Never had a problem with headaches or migraines...woke up one morning and thought my head was going to explode....MRI’s, CT’s and all kinds of test for 3 weeks while off work the whole time as pain pills only worked maybe for 1 hour. Couldn’t sleep, had to hold my head and curl up to get any sort of rest. Went to dentist and he suggested TMJ but before any diagnosis it went away as quickly as it started. Never had a problem since and that was over 10 years ago.

Cortisone epidural in my neck. I showed up, they said "who is driving you home?" I said "me", they said, that's not how this works, you're getting a numbing shot first that's going to leave your upper body numb for a few hours, so I said, "well, skip it" doc comes in and warns me, I should've listened. Yeah, let's do it. Dumb. I've never screamed like that before or since.
