What's the Most expensive Dinner you ever had to Pay for ?

This was an argument today between two guys at my Pool

One guy was telling people that he went to a Restaurant last night in South Beach and spent over $1400 for 5 people. ( including Drinks )
another guy says, That's nothing, he spent $2200 for 5 people at another place.

But the 2nd guy was buying bottles of wine ( 3 ) @ $185 a pop

Now I go to a couple of Nice places, but Never had that kind of bill

Those are expensive dinners. Their bar bill must have been huge. What can a high end meal cost you (just food)?? $75-100.
Those bills are all about the liquor.

I took my mom and wife out to the Capital Grill and it was like $350 without tip....

Really, who pays a nickle/person for dinner. Crazy.

Don't get me wrong, spent $1000 at the Rainbow room in NYC ( 2 couples ) but still, that's $250 per person ...
Place is a landmark and could understand , plus it was a special occasion

Don't get me wrong, spent $1000 at the Rainbow room in NYC ( 2 couples ) but still, that's $250 per person ...

Ive heard the Rainbow room is in another stratosphere for price.....but worth it.

Took all my cousins out for dinner to a Chinese restaurant a few years back when we made a trip back home to RI and the tab was around $400 for about 20 of us. Spent about $200 once years ago when me, wife and son went to Dan Dierdorfs restaurant in St. Louis.

Wandered into Ruth Chris Steakhouse one night by myself....sat at the bar and ordered a ribeye without looking at the menu. Got the check for $75 and told the bartender there was must be a mistake. After he explained that " they weren't The Sizzler" I paid and made my exit. Should have realized it was a fancy place when I saw a guy playing a big white piano in the corner.

yeesh. i pk up my share of tabs but 1500 for 6 people is completely ridiculous. there is no restaurant on earth worth that much imo.
i did tip a girl 90 bucks last night on a 150 dinner with the boys!
