So if I sit at a VP machine and play a buck a hand, 6 hands a min, and do this for 18 mins, I get 80 bucks of chow?

One would need to put a total of $2,000 through the machines.

$1,000 equates to a $40 food comp.............if you have a significant other, you could reap $80 by each putting $1,000 coin-in.

The $80 that I mentioned for 18 minutes was total for TWO people....................one person can snag a $40 comp in less than 10 minutes.........................in fact, if one were to play a very high denomination machine, they could run $1,000 through in almost no time flat.

The wife and me did this everyday.................we snatched up exactly $2400 in food vouchers...............................and all the while beating the machine(s) outright.

It's been a very good month at the Silverton.

First off, thanks for the info many provided in this thread thus far.......especaially zip with the email information.

Illini, if the Cards sold stock you would sit in a pup tent for a week in front of Busch Staduim to get shares.........give me a break.

It's not hilarious to own stock in the Packers in the least if one is a Packer fan and supporter(and precisely why I intend to buy more stock soon)...........bought stock back in 1997 and the money helps support the team and its facilities.........not to mention the other benefits listed earlier in this thread.

I can't imagine a real Packer fan not wanting to own stock in the team(the figure of 115,000 or so total shareholders seemed really low to me and anticipate this figure rising quite alot with this new offerring).

By the way, buy many dinners without a coupon or comp............even though I wouldn't need to do such with the comps I've accumulated around the city at many different venues. Speaking of such, the comp sitution in Vegas at the moment is the best I've ever seen it...........led by the Silverton($80 a day in food comp for 18 minutes of video poker), and more than a few other venues that are not far behind(actually some are as they give unlimited RFB for a few days at a time.) I'm still amazed that more people don't play machines on these forums, be it slots or video poker........guess that's a good thing.

The Silverton used to have 9/6 video poker machines by the Mexican Rest. Bar. I played there often because not only was it a 9/6 machine but it was a progressive machine that I caught when it was above $ 2500 on a quarter machine. I go there now but to my knowledge, all their great 100 + machines are gone. I mainly collect their freebies on my way to visiting the Bass Pro Shops which is well worth visiting even if one doesn't buy anything.

Other than a few progressives spread around the casino, the best video poker games they offer currently is 99.1% bonus poker................which is still a decent game to attack various promos and/or incentives.

Decent but not great. They used to be the best in town ! Now they are just OK. There's better places for me to play at.

Ok, so they don't look at how long you play, they look at the $ you put into play. That makes sense.

If you can't tell, I am not a casino type of person. Been a few times, got bored after 30 mins.

Only game I play more then 10 hands or so, is 3 card poker. I kinda like that. Easy to understand, and moves pretty quick, and you can be drunk and still not screw up to much.

You should probably spend more time learning about VP and SLOTS.................plenty of overlay +ev situations involving both, and both can provide decent entertainment.

You are right, I should.

I can't imagine me ever getting into Slots, but VP could be fun. Do you ever just sit and play at an easy pace, or are you just flying to get your best return per hour on investment?

Quite frequently, yes.

But later today for example, driving over 15 miles to play a very, very good VP play that will take up no less than 6-7 hours of my day.............after a couple hours or so, it really isnt that much fun and can really be a grind, especially if one is getting hit over the head.

When you play for 6-7 hours, I assume it's all at one machine?

How many hands would you say you average per min, during the 2-4 hour? ( I assume you are faster the 1st hour, and slower the last couple hours)

So in the heart of a session, you are playing 14-15 hands a min sitting on cruise control, and playing damn near perfect, hour after hour.

My head would expload, doing that for 2-3-4 hours.

Do you ever cut a session short because you are down $, or do you just keep grinding, knowing the more hands you play, the more +EV the game becomes?

I take breaks often(sipping wine, going to bathroom, talking to someone, watching a football play, etc., etc.,)...............

if I went NON-STOP would average 1000-1100 hands per hour on a semi-fast dealing machine..................with the breaks I mentioned above, average 700 or close to it most of the time when playing long shifts.

Yes, if not an overly great play, will stop if losing .............on great plays, may play for 12+ hours.

As little as $1.25 per hand(5 coin quarter machine)....................or as high as $25 per hand(5 coin $5 machine) or $125 hand(100-play quarter machines).

How often royals are hit depends how many LINES one is playing at one time(and to a lesser degree the type of VP game being played).......................on SINGLE LINE versions, about once every 42,000 hands.

A NICKEL machine pays $200 for a ROYAL
A QUARTER pays $1,000
A DOLLAR machine pays $4,000
A $5 machine pays $20,000

Wilheim once told me that DANTE had a four-lear clover in his nutsack....................how he knew that still bothers me.
