There were some roofers putting a roof on my buddys house, i was over there. the dipshits asked me who i was voting for. they said they were for obama, cause they didnt know what they would do if Romney got in there and took away welfare and unemployment. that sickened me, these asswipes are out making money and milking the system, just burns my ass

No logical person can take democrats out of it, as this notion of government assistance is the backbone of the party. that 40% (who are lazy and want to live off the government) that someone else spoke of in this forum vote democrat purely because of this reason. So in fact it makes perfect sense to make democrats part of the conversation.

Unfortunately, this type of behavior will continue to get worse in the next four years. Very sad because these aren't the principles that made this country great, but they just may be its downfall.

My aim was to take the politics out of it completely.

Shadow, I agree as I got a bit lucky investment-wise at the time (although I did a shitload of research to find some good opportunities).

Even then, a comfortable standard of living should be very attainable.

Find a job you love, make a good wage, live happily. Instead we, as a society, blame others.

Hope it is a wake up call to some.

I've been to the mountaintop as well as the valley.

It isnt' democran/republicrat.

It is work ethic. It is learning and self-improvement. People don't want to hear it.

The jobs were 6 weeks training, no experience, show up every day. You'd be amazed how that thins the herd.

Not sure I can buy everything you are saying.

I know a lot of 20 something college grads who work their ass off for 30-40k and would kill to make 60. I know there are a lot of people who are flat out lazy, but overall it really is hard to get a good paying job, let alone a job you love. But I do agree with you that blaming others gets you nowhere and the happiest, most successful people I know are self made.

My kids aren't being raised this way, nor are any of the kids they go to school with.

I liked Bill Clinton's philosophy. He believes in safety nets but you have to earn that safety net. That's the perfect balance between the now Democratic Party which gives people a free ride just for breathing and the Republican Party who comes off as uncaring.

How do you even get a free ride? My dad has busted his ass all his life, 1-2 and sometimes 3 jobs. he has a blown shoulder, 3 herniated disc and bad knees at 63 he is still working his ass off. Disability hasn't even crossed his mind, but I do have 2 family members that are to fat to work, this is another joke. quit eating and get a job

The people that get a free ride have it down to a science. If they put the effort into working that they did making sure they don't have to work maybe they could contribute to society. My dad, who owned his own business for 30 years, has a busted back from a car accident and struggled to even get disability while he wasn't working.

The fat thing is a joke. When I interned at Disney World, I would always see the people too fat to walk amd they got a lot of special treatment. (cutting lines, getting on rides by themselves, special transportation etc..) Drove me crazy.
