55,000 enough to buy a small fixer-upper in the Costarican countryside

Depends on how you define life changing. Being handed 50k right now would certainly change my life in small ways.

I didnt blow anything this past weekend in live tournaments! It was a great weekend.

Luckily, I have almost stopped playing online poker. I finally realized that I do very well in live action and live tournaments, but suck on internet poker. I wonder why that could be:shocked::nono5:

cuz they cant see your ugly creepy mug online, not to mention listening to you in person would make me wanna bust out to regardless of the entry fee..

$250k. I could buy a house, pay off my car, and have far lower monthly expenses. Though, $36 million would be nice, too.

I guess I would take ...better health over $$$$ any day...

At least 2mil. The dollar doesn't go as far as it used to. One mil would get me everything in living terms(home, cars, kids education, some bills that go along with daily living). The other Mil would be used to live off the interest for the rest of my time on the earth.

Agree on $500K. I would own my house outright and be completely debt free. $1 million would be even more so.

There's a story on MSN.com about 21 lottery winners who blew it all. It's unbelievable how stupid people are. But then again, there's the Allen Iverson's of the world too who blew through every dollar...

This is a different answer than the question asked, imo. To "change your life" (imo) would be a much lower amount. If you owned your house outright and were completely debt free (no student loans, car loans, credit card balance, etc), if you aren't a complete shit-head you would be on solid ground that your current income would be pretty much monthly expenses and the rest is savings/investments (i.e. your former house payment and other debts could now be used as savings & investments).

Your answer is more to, "How much would you need to never have to work again?" I'd say, for me to quit my job, $3 million after taxes would do it. But the older I get, the lower that amount would be...so I could see $2 million if I was in my 50's (and I'm getting closer to that age).

Prolly take 400K to make any changes at all.

100k. House and all bills paid off. Every check just needed for monthly expenses.

I'm worth upwards of 800 million.

Just here to chat with down-to-earth gamblers. Wife and mistress routinely spend 10,000 on trips to the hair salon. But with humble, addict gamblers like all you fellows, I feel I can relax.

I know you're all poor fucks and just need a million or two.... and I would lend it to some of you, but I already lent 2 million to two tranny-opp posters here to help them live their dreams..... (DaFinch and another)..... but the hormones whacked out their artificial synthetic vaginas and they've gone mentally insane. So I no longer lend millions to fellow posters.

10 mil is life changing as i probably wouldnt work again.

1 mil puts me in a "safety zone" knowing the house would be paid off, the kids college is taken care of, and i could use the rest for retirement/celebrations/etc
