im 32 years old, and i figured out my networth yesterday. kind of surprised at how high it was.

i have very little college, i did graduate high school.

anyone else ever figured theirs out?

what should your networth be in your early 30's if you werent handed anything from relatives?

It is recommeded for a financially savvy individual to do a NET WORTH Evaluation every 12-18 months.

Obviously, many can do this in their head on a daily basis. :think1:

I think the originator of the post just wanted to mention that he was "surprised by how high" his net worth is.

If so, no biggie.

Personal money wealth should be about 24th on the list of importance on ones personal list.

Whatever your networth might be, protect yourself. Consider opening up a overseas bank accounts and even putting some things in relatives names that you can trust completly. It is amazing at how quickly all you years of hard work can be taken from you if the US Govt. so chooses.

I'll change it a round a little

Compnents f Net Worth Highest to Lowest

Primary Residence (value increased 70% in the last 3 years, also refinanced so I am accelerated my princiapl repayment, using some 0% money and some low cost/rturn money as well)

Work sponseored retirement accounts (401K, rolled overs from prior employers, and wifes 403B)

Roth IRA (contribution limit raised to 4000 this year)

Non-Retirment mutal funds

Money Market (since I have enough liquifity in my home equity line I do not have 6 months available in liquid cash)

Sportsbook accounts

Kids college fund money still in my name (still haven't decided on a 529 or TAP, but will do so in the next few months)

Checking Account (more than I should have in it)

MIscaleneous Assets (jewelry, art, etc, things I do not need, does not include cars)

Neteller Account

Best advise I can give people is to pay yourself firstout of your income.
Max out the 401K and Roth
Force save additional money by writing a check each payday to your investment account or money market account
PAydown all consumer debt (except house)

Do some simple planning on when you want to retire and the lifestyle you would want at that time.

Just for fun, we determined if we liquidate eveerything and move to the Phillipines we could retire now.

At age 30 I would guess one should have a net worth of $75,000-$100,000
By age 40 $250,000-$400,000

wasnt like that at all. i just thought it was an interesting topic, and wondered if anyone else had ever taken the time to figure theirs out.

i figured mine to be in the 50-75k range, but including the equity i have in my home, and my 401k account, it is much higher.

im sure most of the posters around here are a LOT higher than me. hell, lots of guys have more than this in offshore sportsbooks.

I calculate my net worth every Sunday night and it is 100% liquid. If measured in Colones, it is many many millions.
