I don't think they are even sisters ? I doubt I'll ever watch that one again.

Should have saved that title for the Black female copycat of American Pickers !

I can see a couple of real sista's from Philly going up to Maine in an old school bus or something....

Storage lockers shows are total frauds. It's completely staged. No one makes any money buying unclaimed storage lockers. I like the Pickers show even though those guys might be the Ambiguosly Gay Duo.

Wrong, people DID ...............before the shows. Now they can't because everyone is trying to do the same thing and you have 100k people trying to get the deals.

About pawn stars, there is a book in amazon where they explain the current situation (and yeah , they are all millionaries and now will make more money with the book)

I LOVE the gansta pawnshop in Detroit (I went there to get my picture taken with them about a month ago )

I wanted to try to sell them something and then go ballistic when they offer me 5 bucks...and end up on tv ROFL

People thought wrestling was real 30 years ago.

I was watching a documentary a long time ago when the owner of the WWF (vince mcmahon or whatever) got a call from Ted Turner when Turner bought the WCE something wrestling blabla

He said "Now we are both in the wrestling business" to Mcmahon, Mcmahon said "Ted ....I am in the ENTERTAINING business"

I would be willing to bet hardcore pawn is a lot more real than pawn stars. Hardcore pawn does not always focus on out of this world type of items being brought it, their client bases is much more reflective of real world people etc

Yeah I've noticed the items are lot more "everyday" things I could see someone going in to buy.

While pawn stars isn't bad because you can laugh at Chum...who the fuck wants to buy a 19th century gun that is built into your oversized belt buckle? That shit has to sit around for months before they get any takers. I do enjoy how they pay on the cheap to people who are desperate.

I like watching Bridezillas and trying to think of the most sinister, torturous acts I could do to these pigs in a wedding dress..So far my best punishment has been sticking them in a porto john that has been sitting in the middle of a xcontruction site in Vegas in the summer and dumping it over..

I watch the one where they buy the storage sheds. I actually wish they would show the times they buy a storage full of shit, but as someone stated above they never do.

They have the right contacts to sell the stuff they buy to, most of us wouldn't have a clue and would try to sell to a pawn shop and cut a bunch of profits.

Plus if they were really finding the shit they claim everytime, the owners of the storage sheds would simply keep what's in them.

hardcore pawn was like 60% jewelry (they had nice stuff) , 20% tvs /stereos and in the 40 mins or so I was in there you could definitively sense that it was real (tough) life stuff. the line to get loans was HUGE.

(of course that I ended up buying the shirt which the guys all signed LOL so thats their new business...selling merchandise )

I guess it has to be scripted or it would be too boring.

I can't see those original picker guys from Iowa making money taking 1,000 mile + road buying trips, without the TV revenue.

We never see them pull in for gas - have a flat tire - or what kind of motel they stay at? For all we know, they might have 3-4 of those white vans that employees drive to the location and then they fly in to do the shows?

i watch all the pawn and storage shows. i personally love them and enjoy watching them. the guy darrell (the gambler) on storage wars has been complaining lately b/c your getting 30X as many people as these auctions and the units are selling for 2/3/4X what they would have in the past....the last couple shows he's walked away with nothing and was on camera complaining about all the newbies bidding up the units looking for hidden treasure....i hope he's getting paid well from the show b/c his business is going to suffer from taking this type of business mainstream...he was actually on CNBC being interviewed about 2 weeks ago which i found crazy....

I can see where buying abandoned storage lockers might have been once been profitable, not so much now with a ton of buyers trying it from these shows.

A pawnshop in a place like LV should do great, even Detroit with all the trash there.

add in the hoarder shows and the survival shows too, forgot about them....

You had the Man vs. Wild British guy that turned out to be spending his wild nights in 5* hotels, then the Canadian guy, then a Man/ wife couple and then two guys ( one goes barefoot no matter what).

So , If we are not pawning our shit, or buying storage units to resell, or eating 59 hot dogs in 10 minutes flat, then we are traversing the Swiss Alps while barefoot ! SHVT, I'm just watching the Yankees' game.
