Magic Johnsons comeback game against the Warriors. Van Exel, Peeler, Divac, Campbell, Ceballos, Eddie Jones, that was the squad to watch. There was euphoria in the building that night.

Without a doubt game 7 of the Stanley Cup playoffs between Calgary and Tampa. The electricity and engery from beginning to end was enough to leave the hair on the back of your neck stand straight non stop for three hours. There was nothing like it to watch a franchise win their first major championship. 20,00 plus fans inside, 10,000-15,000 fans watching outside.

From a historical perspective, 1978 RedSox/Yankees 1 game playoff. That ball Remy hit in the 9th could've so easily got past Piniella. I had no action on the game, but was able to go because a friend's brother who had a ticket was betting the Yankees and refused to attend.

1972....My jr high school had its annual fundraising game. The jr high coaches played the high school coaches. I dont think the jr's had ever won. This year would be different though. Our newest coach was fresh out of Southern U. with a few NBA tryouts 1st. Guy could shoot like Bird. We couldnt wait for the game cus he was going to lite them up for sure.
The day of the game Coach comes in and we can tell somethings wrong. "Guys i cant play tonight, im in the National Guard and they have called a meeting tonight that i cant miss". We were blown away. This was gonna be the biggest night ever and now its done. The HS will smoke us again and that will be that.
We go to the game that night and its just what we thought. It was like 35-10 at the half and everyone was ready to leave.
All of a sudden the crowd started standing.....something was happening. Our coach came thru the door, full Guard uniform on and carrying a duffel bag...he went to the locker room and NOBODY LEFT!!!
When the 2nd half started it was a show that will never be duplicated...He shot from everywhere on the court and i dont think he missed any....And when he wasnt draining rainmakers he was on the other end making steals and blocks. You would have thought the national championship was being played in that gym. Everybody was standing and he just kept them coming....We won the game by a lot. The other team was in such awe they enjoyed watching him as much as we did...
unfortunately i have been unable to find a pic of Coach. But if your ever in Baton Rouge stop by Glen Oaks HS and ask to see Harvey Adger....He moved to the high school later on and has been head coach there since. Won the state championship a few years ago, going 36-0 with USC signee Ryan Francis who was murdered here in a driveby and never got to display his skills....
I only spent that 1 yr with Coach but those memories will never die.....and that was the greatest sporting event i ever attended.

Good story.

I could have been wrong, but in many of your posts, you came across as David Duke. Could be mistaking you for someone else.

Big 12 Championship 2008 KU vs Texas. Three point shootout, amazing game to witness.

Honorable Mention: Any game I've ever been to at Allenfield House, any basketball fan could tell it is one of the greatest places in the world to watch the game.

2 Actually, One Is Ancient

Jan/Feb 1955, rafters in Wms Arena, U of Mn campus, and it was literally shaking. Had my future ex w/me (mistake). Iowa & Murray Weir vs the GG w/Garmaker etc. fighting for B10 title, fabulous.

Mid 70's old Vikes outdoor stadium, freezing. Vs the Niners, behind 14+ pts going into 4th Q. Sorry memory fails me here, just know the Purple looked so inept and were so far behind, that people were leaving. Could have been 20 pts? Tommy Kramer brought em back for the W in the last 2 mins.!!

Also saw N. Ryan vs Twins, for Rod's homecoming after the trade. Fun to see an immortal. His fastball was a thing of beauty.

There are so many more, lots of them were HS, State BB games.:toast:

Haven't been to many sporting events. The best I have been to was when Kentucky beat LSU in overtime in 2007. I think it went to three overtimes.
