General let me ad my thoughts and how much I hope this is in synergy with Forum Team.
There are no CONS!!!! This be known!!!!
That forum exists for exactly what it is intended. If someone wants to generate a business from selling selections. NO PROBLEM AT ALL!!! FREE ENTERPRISE is WONDERFUL
But have it all with fair balance where everyone is equal. And the advertising is FREE because the forum allowed the forumt o begin with. So all should be happy they get exposure.
Now as far as this forum goes in each of its respective sports categories, we are capable of posting our picks, and some we rank higher, brag higher on, put our $$$$$ on, and this is exactly where the strength lies in this forum. Gambling is work, and we need posters and their acumen on selections. If someone wants to sell them, fine....go to the arena of trade then, or work with the family rules of the RX.
Now if any poster on here is trying to spin master you with word smithing, well do not BUY IT.....That it is the same as "NEWPORT GOY" selection as the TOUTS promo their services. One is an APPLE and the other an ORANGE. Make sure we keep them in their separate fruit baskets, and do not let the verbal artisans con you to believing it is the same.
You know what I am putting on the line when I get excited about a selection.

the way i see it why have it. touts cant do for anyone what the cappers here do for free and much better too i might add. casinoman and his ilk can charge $2500 for something bucsfan67 and all the others give for free daily.im proof. on this past weekend while hanging out right here as usuall i got 2 great derby picks from kidslick and a boatload more from judge wapner and incredible opinion and analysis from oldman ted which led me to striking huge with giacomo and i had the 2nd place horse too so i was assured a triple digit win. at the same time i made huge bucks on baseball and hit a 3 team parlay in the nba. can any tout do that? no.,it came from the best this business has to offer and nothing is expected except maybe a thank you. thank you kidslick,ted,judge,bucsfan,ego74,kruser,...the list is too long to go thru.in its place create a kind of social gathering room opposite the rubberoom.i hate being a topic in the offshore forum cuz thats a place for serious playas and a few with no sense of humor.but if we had a room for friendly posts with no flaming that would be cool.if im a topic in a room filled with other topics of posters it makes alot of fun. if dante wants to call out rpm about something they can take it up in there and not up here.i was goofing around in the newbys forum and created my own thread. now its rather large but thats kind of what i mean. anyhow my 2 cents.~RG
I have been posting for quite a while now and some like me and some dont and thats the way it goes, I promote my site in site promos and will be honest if not for the rx many of my members would not be there. I also advertise on many other sites which are good and they have it. Should site promos be eliminated then I to will probably be eliminated from posting as I would be disappointed. I do not sell picks on my site its just a friendly forum where I can cuss and raise hell for the people that do like me. Choose what is best for the rx but as I see it this place is the close to the best forum on the net so if its not broke it dont need fixed. Have a hell of a night!
The site promotions forum doesn't keep touts out of the other forums. They use it to gather email addresses from potential clients.
When Smokey Wins went on that big run in football, his threads started getting a lot of hits. Then people started asking for his email. He gives it out. It's deleted. Then, when anyone asked after that, it was "You have to go over to site promotions to get that." He spent all his time in the football forums trying to get people to go to site promotions and get his email and web address.
The same thing happened when DAWGMAN had a monster run in football. His threads were getting a ton of hits. He started openly asking for email addresses in the football forums looking for business. When that was stopped, he posted his email in the site promotions forum, and then tried to get as many potential clients as possible to go in there and email him.
For some reason, people think the site promotions forum will keep touts out of the other forums. That's just not true. They use it to post their website and email addresses. Then, they go in to other forums and try to get people to go into site promotions and click on their posts. Then go to their website. Then email to find out how to pay them.
The site promotions forum helps the tout, not the player. The RX should quit helping them and get rid of that forum.

People that are daily viewers of this forum should be smart enugh to not fall for those scammers. People have to learn sooner or later. Rx has great cappers in the sports forums at different times of the year. I never even thought of entering the Site Promotion forum until i saw you mention it in this thread.
I'm a supporter of it I suppose. I don't think that the touts should be banned as it is up to the consumer to make a decision on how they want to invest their money. However, if the problem you have is with touts, then wouldn't you be able to use the site promotions for non-tout related stuff?
I've always had a problem (which many of you guys have heard, I'm sure) with not being able to post links to other sites to spread information. There are some great sites out there with great info that alot of RX'ers will never here of even if the site promotions are left open for non-tout sites, just because not many look there. I think if you truly want to be a watchdog, you should try and help people protect their money at the safe sportsbooks. By that, I mean allowing links to other sites so your posters can get the most information possible before making a bet. I think the spread of information is what we should be aiming at, but since I know the owners disagree with me there, I definately think the site promotions section should be left open for, the very least, non-tout related gambling websites. The more information your posters have before making a pick or forming an opinion, the better.
