Surprised no one said Walter Payton for football. He played hard every down on some very bad Bears teams. One of the biggest tragedies of the super bowl was Chicago winning big and Ditka calls the Fridge's number to score from the one instead of giving it to sweetness.

Definitely Walter Payton, like Mike Ditka once said "Payton is the greatest football player i had ever seen, but even greater as a human being".

He just retired a few days ago actually, Roy Jones Jr.

Didn't have the most exciting career because of a lack of challengers after he cleaned out several divisions but I really don't think anyone has ever boxed at a higher level relative to their peers at any other point in the history of the sport.

Ken Griffey Jr.

Watched him break into the league at 19 and loved how he played the game of baseball. Had fun and with such a sweet swing. Guy was amazing out there in CF.

The guy is the very definition of a flash in the pan. He flamed out real quick. Favorite athlete of all time? Like seriously did you start watching sports yesterday?

Look at all the names in this thread and then slap kemba walker in there? That is an absolute abomination.

Joe Montana... He is the guy who got me into football and the first Super Bowl I ever went to and watched him drive the field to win it in the end. A true professional at his craft.

Met him and Don Johnson ( Miami vice at its peak) at the nbc party when the bears beat the pats in New Orleans. Was amazed at how short don was and how huge joe Montana was. His shoulders were a mile wide and had those big powerful QB hands. Big time QB hands that all big time QB have
