Nah I was just trying to suggest something a little outside the box for that time of year.

Also, you can actually travel outside the country to al all inclusive and save money as compared to going somewhere in the states.

Good to think Outside of the box sometimes ... But Right off the Bat, you're talking about 8 Round trip plane tickets
Also, Aruba isn't Cheap. Guess you can save some $$ renting a House there, but gotta cost around $5K for the Week

Great place to Visit though... been there at least a dozen times

BTW: whenever renting a beachfront property from a private owner, and he has vacancies, I have to believe the price is negotiable

This is at least the 3rd vacation that JC has said he is going on this year so keep that in mind. But when you are a poker pro and basically run the largest finance company in the world, you get to do those things. But JC keep in mind most of us aren't as big time as you are.

I vote outer banks, one of the best vacations I've ever done and I've traveled to a lot of places, probably the only reason I work anymore. Someone said it's a tourist trap but I think it's the opposite. There really isn't that much to do outside of hang out at the beach and there isn't a minature golf or go kart track on every corner, actually don't remember seeing any. We rented a house in Corolla with another family. Driving there "can" be a pain in the ass but time is right meaning don't drive at 9am or 5pm but it is a 2 lane highway for a lot of the trip. Be smart about it.

Beaches are great, good waves, and not overly crowded with plenty of beach space. I rarely go back to the same place twice because I love to try new places but this is one I will be back to.

Yeah, St. Augustine is awesome. Along the East Coast the Beaches themselves can be very spotty, limited sandy shoreline when i was in Myrtle near the whole damn beach got washed away, exceptionally high tide I don't know what...storm surge i was consistently far too drunk to understand but as soon as you hit Florida then the Beaches get real and the surf gets..."more" real. By East Coast standards anyways. Absent a storm I'd reckon there isn't real "surf" on the East Coast, really disappointed in The Earth in this regard. When I was in St. Aug there was a free trolley that took people from bar to bar. Among the best inventions ever.

I grew up in the Jacksonville beaches area and still have a condo in Ponte Vedra Beach (which is just north of St. Augustine). That area is great. It's not over populated and the beaches aren't congested. St. Augustine Beach is a nice little community. There's great bars and always live music somewhere....and drinks are cheap. I've lived in the DC area for 7 years so I'm used to $8 beers....so going home to visit is great when a decent beer is $5 or less.

Outer banks can be an easy drive depending on when you go - most of it is more family oriented as well

Love the OBX. You can get a monster house on the beach with elevator and hot tub on the cheap. Great chill vacation

If willing to go out of country aruba is the best tropical destination that time of year because it's outside the hurricane belt.

Will be traveling there myself for the first time this august
I haven't been, but I heard the moon is nice

If you do go, hit up the fudge kitchen.

You'd better believe he will.....

I went to the Jersey shore about 3 or 4 years ago and me and my family all enjoyed it.

i have family that lives on fmb and i go for a few wks several times a yr. its nice but very touristy in season. most of the time it takes 2-3 hrs to get on and off of the island. out of season it gets very hot. the beaches are nice and there is some really good food. not much to do really other than eat, drink and go to the beach though. lots of older people down there. they do have a boat that can get you to the keys though thats pretty cool. if you do this, plan on staying in kw for a few days. a 6 hr round trip boat ride to the keys for a day isnt worth it imo.
