Or maybe Europe and South American where soccer is a religious sport yet they can't produce any decent team that can wipe the floor with the USA team, and our women consistently kick their asses in every major tournament.
They're simply jealous because the USA women soccer team has been such a dominant force in this sport for more than a decade, they're undoubtedly the best team in the world.
So they have been so dominant, just tell me when they last won a world cup? Just a hint: Better go and look back at tournaments in the last century....still they always have fielded strong teams, but it's not like they dominated the competition in any major tournament.
Besides nobody really cares about women's soccer, neither in South America, nor in Europe...unless the world cup is on, news coverage is close to zero and even during the world cup it's barely news-worthy, unless the country hosts the world cup...and maybe it's different for women's soccer, but in men's soccer the Olympics don't even come remotely close to the importance of World Cup, European Cup or Copa America.
Maybe tomorrow's gold medal match is different because of the players on this year's team, but I'd bet that any random world cup qualifying match (and maybe even some of the exhibition matches) between Brazil and Argentina gets far more news coverage and fan/media attention than the gold medal match at the Olympics...let alone any world cup match...
Putting that all aside: Let the girls celebrate, it's just a t-shirt and not even disrespectful one...once again somebody trying to create controversy over nothing...
