Thank you. When I found out Collin Farrell and Vince Vaughn were in season 2, I had to swallow my reflux. Not that they are bad actors, but this is not their kind of movie. Rather focus on the girl. There is some meat there in her past.

Too many moving pieces for me so far. I watched with 90% attention and its hard to follow. For example... i know Caspere was Vaughns partner in the railway deal. However... we never saw Caspere alive. We are getting bits and pieces about who he was. The Caspere investigation is tying the three previously unrelated detectives together (each of whom has their own bac story) as well as Vaughn. I guess my problem so far has been having FOUR characters develop simutaneously with very little connection to each other. If the viewer disengages for a minute, thete is a feeling of being lost.

Anyway... i am all in on this season purely based on last season. I will keep watching to see where it goes.

Side note on episode 2... the mother of the "paul" character was kind of freaky. I am gping out on a limb and predict she has a thing for her son which has f'd him up pretty good in the head. There was a very weird vibe and dialoge between she and son.

I am almost 100% positive they have or had a sexual relationship of some kind... really fucked up

They fucked up casting Vince Vaughn as a bad ass. Him acting tough is laughable. Looks awkward.

+1.

Vince portraits a good d-bag... not a bad guy, not a killer, he is not a good actor. He is a good guy, must be tons of fun to hang with but just like Affleck, not a good actor. Ed Norton should be in TD3.

Ok... New episode tonight. 3 things:

1. The bullet fest at the end was really well shot, it had me on the edge of my sit for 10mins or so.
2. The chemistry between the actors is really weird, is like there is no sync. I know Woody and Matthew are outstanding and is not a fair comparison but this show is not what it was on season 1. Even the intro is subpar.
3. By episode 4 season 1 I was hooked and already had my theories on the whole shabang (and wasnt that far-off). Season 2, episode 4 I have more questions about the show's direction than the plot itself, and that's saying a lot.

I'm not saying I don't like season 2. But I can safely say season 2 is inferior without being final.

Completely agree. One of the things that was so effective about Season 1 was its use of landscape to create that creepy, dark feeling. While not as good, I do think season 2 is beginning to do a better job of using LA/California to evoke chaos/darkness. That gunfight was a great scene, but the whole time I'm thinking wtf was that all about?

Totally different feel to this season than last. It seems fairly disjointed in my opinion. Season 1 was fluent and flowed well with the creepy southern backwoods vibe. The shootout may be the start of something good though.

I think it's pretty good. First season was awesome but understandable with Woody and Matthew. Did I miss what was the original connection with Vaughn's character and Farrell's? Where did they first get tied up together?

Vince Vaughn is beyond horrible. I thought he might improve over that uncomfortable opening scene he had with the Russian mobster in episode one. But he has progressively gotten worse. He's just not a great actor. Especially for the part he has to play. His character is based entirely on his ability to intimidate people. But there just isn't anything scary about the guy. I think we've seen him in too many comedies to start believing he can pull off this bad guy routine. Right now on a scale to 1-10 I would give this show about a 6. Other than the shootout I thought last night's episode was the weakest of the bunch. The producers also committed the cardinal sin of having too many main characters and scattered scenes and storylines. They should have limited it to Farrell and McAdams. Kitsch's story is terrible and totally unnecessary. They better have some big plans for him in the next 4 episodes or he'll just end up being filler for the show. Which is the kind of stuff I really hate. Right now, I wouldn't call the show bad. It's just boring.

that's in the first 5 minutes of the 1st episode

Farrell's wife was raped years ago that's not his kid and Vaughn told him who did it

I agree with most posts in here. I just don't know where this season is going and have no possible theories. I loved the last scene but we had never seen those Mexicans or known anything about them and then its just a gun fight. I still am interested in the show but def. not as good as last season. Too many characters and not enough time to develop them all
