Tony Stewart Runs Over and Kills Fellow Driver on Saturday Night

It's both of their faults.

The guy on the track for getting out of his car and walking towards a deadly weapon (car), and Tony's for burping the engine and causing the fishtail.

I personally think Tony meant to get close to the guy and scare him, but not hit him, and the guy definitely walked towards the car more than he should. I've seen this countless times at my local dirt tracks and have done it a few times myself (both sides).

This is the correct answer.

Apparently, there are reports that Tony was wearing a Go Pro last night also. I wonder how fast that was destroyed?

Also reported that they changed the right rear tire once his car made it back to the trailer, and the crew put on a left rear instead. I don't know how true this is because that is very noticeable on these cars, and I did see Tony stop on the track right after hitting him. The car was seized, though.

if Tony made even one tiny motion to try and scare Ward or whatever, he's going to be haunted by that for the rest of his life. and to me, it looks like that is what he did, he meant to scare him and wound up killing him.

It's a sad situation no doubt. But it's a on track incident and Tony can't be held Liable. And who's to say the kid didn't get to close basically walking into the car out of anger and caused this incident himself. Sorta like having a wreck on a major Interstate afterwards don't go play in the traffic at the accident scene waiting on the police to arrive. STAY in your vehicle. The kid would still be alive today if he would have stayed in his race car until track officials arrived.

That would be like a bull rider getting bucked and then getting up to go taunt the bull for bucking him. Not a smart move by the kid, sad, just not smart. Small track, dark, traction issues, I doubt Tony intentionally meant to hit the kid.

Even if the kid was a fool for doing that, Tony Stewart is seen as the bad guy in this situation. The kid was a fool. At that age you think you're gonna live forever. Confidence is way too high and it can end up hurting you.
