Speaking of Palmer - the guy was money in the clutch.

In six ALCS and six World Series, he recorded an 8-3 record with 90 strikeouts, and an ERA of 2.61 and two shutouts in 17 games. His final major-league victory is worth mentioning:

Pitching in relief for the O's in the third game of the the 1983 World Series against Philadelphia, with each team owning a win, he worked two shutout innings of relief and got the win against the hard hitting Phillies. The great Steve Carlton took the loss. The game was the turning point of the series as the O's went on to win in five.

Your in good form tonite Steak Tatar - that's correct. Belle is also well known for collecting $11 Million a year for three years AFTER he retired from the Baltimore Orioles because of a 5 year $65 million contract he only played two years of - some kind of insurance deal forced the O's to pay.


Belle is also the first player in baseball history to hit 50 homes and 50 doubles in the same season in 1995 while with the Indians and remains the only guy to ever do it to this day.


Oh yeah one other thing Belle led Major Leagues in the 1990s with 1,099 RBI. No wonder he made the statement.
