Didnt get drawn for the lottery, but got a great deal on tix from a fellow season ticket holder who couldnt make the trip.

My hotel is about 8-10 miles from the stadium, so I rented a car. I realize the parking setup might be a little different than a normal regular season game. Any tips on where I can park close that the general public might not know about?

Also, do I need a car? My hotel is about 2 miles from the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel. Are taxis plentiful? Would it be better to taxi or rent a car?

Thanks.

No problem. First of all, I did a ton of research on what tickets were going for.

The cheapest tickets have been going for $1600-$1800. These prices are for upper corner tickets.

My tickets are upper level about even with the back of the endzone. I paid $1300 a piece.

Could I have got a better deal if I waited? Perhaps. But the stress is over and I can relax for the next 10 days. Thats worth it to me.

For this particular event you would be far better off taking a taxi from your hotel and have them drop you as close to the stadium as possible.

Dale Mabry is a six lane highway that runs west of the CITS and you should be able to get within no less than six blocks.

Cab from HardRock to the CITS would be no more than $30 in normal traffic and maybe a bit more in crowded traffic.

Either way, it beats the hell out of paying that same $30-40 for parking while also having to be the beaten down driver.

LOL Tips for parking. Here you go.

#1 Pull up to lot.
#2 Pay parking atendent
#3 Drive around the lot and find a spot.
#4 When you find a spot pull in. Only douchebags back into a spot.
#5 Get out and find the local Mexican and pay him another 20 for the special security watch.

LOL Yeah yeah we get it you are going to the superbowl. The biggest waste of money ever. You could scalp those seats to a Pitt fan and buy a new HDTV.

Living in Tampa for 25 years, I know Tampa like the back of my hand. Depending on how long you are staying in Tampa, you would want to rent a car. Tampa area is so spread out that if you are staying more than a couple of days, you will want to explore the area a little bit by car and not by taxi. Only way to get around town without a car is taxi. As we do not have a very good transit system.

As far as game day parking, if you take your car, you want to enter from the north end area of the stadium. I live about ten/fifteen minutes north of the stadium and access to Ray Jay is much easier then traveling from the south end. They will be closing down Dale Mabry, MLK, Himes and Tampa Bay Blvd the day before the game. This is huge for this area. It will cause a serious clusterfuck, especially if you are not familiar with the area. So, whatever you do if you choose rental car, please get to the stadium by going south on Dale Mabry from the Carrollwood area. "DO NOT" goto stadium via south then north. There are plenty of places to park on the side streets which I totally trust as I have been parking on the side streets for the past 5/6 years. As a matter of fact, I will be working the club level behind the bar and will be parking my car just north of the stadium, but have to have someone take me to the airport to get checked in and bussed in. So, after I am finished I walk ten minutes to my car and drive 15 minutes north to my house.

Please be aware as well, if you are staying near the Hard Rock, this place will be jammed fucking packed to the gill. They serve the bar til 6am and the place is not really big to be holding all the people they are expecting, just for your fyi. The best place to be if you have no access to parties, imo for Friday and Saturday nights will be the Channelside District in downtown Tampa, alot of things going on {this being said, alot of things going in this town} within a five to ten minute walk and a five minute trolley to Ybor City. But, be forwarned about Ybor, you go there, stay in a very visable areas and not on the dark back streets. Unfortunately Ybor is surrounded by on two sides of not so good neighborhoods. But, city of Tampa, I guarentee will be out in droves.

For day time ventures, beaches are awesome, just do not goto Clearwater Beach, this is most over hyped tourist trap that no locals hardly goto. If you want to goto beach, goto St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island or John's Pass area. All of those beaches are in the Southern part of Pinellas County. About a 45 minute/1 hour drive from where you may be. Orlando is also about a 45 minute/ 1 hour drive as well. Lots to do in Orlando.

Good Luck!!!! I will answer any questions that you may have. One last note the St. Pete Times Fourum, located in the Channelside District will also be jamming. Eagles concert on Thursday, Lightning vs Flyers hockey on Friday, Dane Cook Live on Saturday. Across from Forum, Snoop Dog in concert on Friday and Three Doors Down Concert on Saturday at Bud Bowl.

Have a blast....weather is to be in the mid 70's for the day with the lows to be in the mid 50's. IMO perfect fucking Super Bowl weather for Tampa.

Nice pic TTP! Good stuff...

So for an out-of-towner, paying the $60 to park is better than parking somewhere cheaper and cabbing in?

LOL I had an arguement with my cousin when the Superbowl was in Detroit. He and his son had season tickets. He was hoping to win the lottery to get tickets. I said well if your son wins the tickets he should sell them and help him out with a down payment on a house. He said I was stupid, LOL I said are you kidding me. A game of foorball that you can watch for free over your son making some nice coin that will in the end help him out for the next 30 years. LOL Stupid people are all over the place.

He said it a once in a lifetim thing. I agreed with him its once in a lifetime that you win the lottery and to make the most out of it. He still didn't see the sense in that.

His son doesn't make great money and that money would have helped him to put more money down on a house.

Thats the point I was trying to make.

Chill out and enjoy the game.

LOL Here outside of Detroit if you could put another 3g's on a house that would be a big difference in 30 years.

I just laugh when people say its once in a lifetime thing. Yes if its your team than yes that might be true.

For it being just a onetime deal. I would sell those tickets everytime. LOL I into making money.
