I know it's easy to make fun of, but Heat got the rotation right by putting Love back in the starting lineup and allowing Butler to focus in on Murray

Make Jokic try to score primarily, and the Heat will win this series.
I get the whole Jokic a scorer thing.

But what exactly did Miami do different on defense, from game 1?

My only take(and this is just my eye) is that Denver is missing shots so Jokic just does it himself. I didn't see any changes in defense. Denver would obviously have a worst record when Jokic scores 40 plus as what that really means is his teammates are missing shots. Guys like Michael Porter obviously then also lets their bad offense affect their defense.

I thought this is why Spo laughed at the question.

Adding Love into the lineup to defend Gordon --> allows Butler to basically solely guard Murray. That's a huge upgrade defensively and something they changed from Game 1 to Game 2

Basically then you have Butler/Bam guarding the Murray/Jokic action, allows Heat role players to stay home on guys like MPJ, etc.

Spo laughed at it out of respect for Jokic, and I think "make Jokic a scorer" is kind of a silly statement when you hear it out loud

But he knows it's exactly what they want to do. Jokic is so dangerous because of his ability to pass, but it's not a concidence that 3 of the 4 Nuggets losses these playoffs came when Jokic had high volume scoring nights (40+ in 3 losses I think)

Thing is, Denver actually shot pretty well. 52% from the floor overall, 39% from 3.

Jokic wasn't far above these numbers himself (16/28 and 2/5 from 3)

You think Love starts every game moving forward?

You think Jokic averages under 10 assists--game 3 moving forward?

I mean that whole make Jokic a scorer thing was known before game 1---why wait until game 2 if there is actually something you can devise to make this actually happen and it just isn't flow of the game coincidence.

We shall see.

I don't think it really matters what Miami does. Denver just needs more defense intensity/effort and not allow the Heat to shoot 65% in the 4th Q as they have the first 2 games and also stop fouling jump shooters.

Well it’s obviously easier said than done to disrupt Jokic and make him not a playmaker

We’ll see. Wouldn’t be shocked if Jokic averages 13 assists or like 7 assists going forward

I think Love thing was just a tactical mistake, Spo seemed to acknowledge that. So I do expect Love starts going forward

Love had been kind of played out of rotation at the end of Celtics series, so wonder if he just went with the same lineup he was playing

I was very wrong with game 2. I thought once a team like this took Miami seriously they would have problems.

Instead Miami did what they have done all play-offs.

Game 3 will be very interesting.

Spo is a very good coach but hard to say he is head and shoulders above everyone else.

I mean he did lose 4 in a row to Spurs when he had an equally talented team with The Heatales.

Also did get swept by Milwaukee a few years back in first round. Even though Bucks won championship they proved they were still highly beatable.

That said this would be the most impressive run to a championship i can ever think of....

To play the devil's card.

One could ask if this Miami team is this good. WTF was it doing flirty with missing the play-offs all together? Where was this coaching over 82 games? You were 3 minutes away from a hugely disappointing year. Losing b2b home games to the likes of ATL and Chicago.

This is why i hate winning on small margins. There is something wrong. I said same with Bucks---you stomp to that 2021 title and its ridiculous to fire Bud. But the fact is even then you played on small margins and caught breaks.

I see now the Nuggets winning the finals is a lot higher liability than the Heat. That must be why they're still +240 with the series tied and home court in the Heats favor. Maybe balancing out the money in case Denver wins it

Lol. Just liked i said. You won't lay a cent but will open ur mouth if the bet loses.

Anytime you want to scrape any money together we can remove the juice from both sides and make a bet.

And if ur going to play the card that I won't pay. Go ask Willie how often I haven't paid.

A moron will moron.

My point wasn't that the Heat win just imo not worth laying that line the way Heat are playing and with Nuggets track record. Nothing else. But the question stands. Feel good about it?

If one line is the "suckers" bet(as u put it previously) than obviously the opposite is the smart money.

If ur getting over 3 to 1 doesn't mean you think Miami wins necessarily---just if this series was played 3 times Miami wins more or at least once...

Ur argument is disingenuous and ur question is passive aggressive.

Keep on the sidelines. I am sure it has suited you your whole life.

Most bet (money) teams to win NBA Championship at one online book. Denver 33.4%, Miami 8.9%. That's prob why you see +240 on Miami with the series tied after 2 games. The books usually win so maybe Miami pulls it off with less book liability with futures.

Its basically just evened out of how the book plans to point spread the rest of the remaining games.

Denver outside of injury or perhaps a 20 point Miami blow out in game 3 will be the favorite every game in this series.

Much the same way Boston was just +700 to do something never accomplished. Only slight dog game 4 and the favorite every game after(rather heavy favs at home)

Very true. Good observation. I wonder if the futures liability was the opposite if we'd still be seeing +240 for Miami in this spot. I think prob not
