Analysis:

The St. Louis Blues will be a much better team this season - with a full season under head coach Andy Murray. He led the Blues to a 27-18-9 record after starting the year at 7-17-4.

The Blues also added offensive star Paul Kariya and have Keith Tkachuk back and ready for the season.

On the other hand, Phoenix has simply declined under coach Wayne Gretzky - scoring just 216 goals last season and they are missing MUCH of that limited firepower to start the 2007-08 season. Goaltending is also a MAJOR QUESTION MARK and that simply isn't a good omen to start the season.

St. Louis also dominated the last matchup in Phoenix - picking up a 5-2 victory and I expect them to be one of the surprise teams in the NHL this season
