MLB | Brewers vs Reds
Play on: Reds -103

Free MLB Baseball Prediction From Doc’s Sports :

Take Cincinnati over Milwaukee (7 p.m., Thursday, June 28)

You are going to great value with the Reds on Thursday Night behind Desclafani. The Reds have been able to score their fair share of runs at home, and they get a good arm behind them at home on Friday Night with Desclafani winning his last 3 starts, including holding the Cubs to 2 runs and 3 hits in 6.1 innings in his last game (11-2 Win for Reds) and he held the Pirates to 2 runs in nearly 6 innings and beat the Cards 6-3 as well. The Reds have won 4 of his last 5 starts and this will be a good public fade as the Brewers offense continues to struggle and with Desclafani having already beaten some of the elite teams in the National League. We like him to keep rolling against Junior Guerra, who the Brewers have lost 3 of his last four Starts.

MLB | SEA vs BAL
Play on: OVER 9½ -131

ASA Bonus Play on OVER: Baltimore Orioles vs Seattle Mariners, Thursday at 3:05 PM ET

Yesterday's game was a wild one that totaled 15 runs. We expect another one here. While the Mariners Mike Leake is off of a strong start, he is not a strikeout pitcher. In his 3 prior starts he had struck out a total of only 8 in 20 innings. The reason that is important here is because the Orioles are known for being an aggressive lineup at the plate and being free swingers. However, facing a non-strikeout pitcher generally means more contact for the O's and when Baltimore's hitters are making contact they certainly are quite dangerous. The Orioles have averaged 5.2 runs and 10 hits per game their last 5 home games. The over is 4-1 in the Orioles last 5 games versus a right-handed starter not named Max Scherzer (he shuts most everyone down). The Mariners enter this game having averaged scoring 5.5 runs per game their last 6 games. Seattle has been swinging the bats very well and they've averaged 10 hits per game their last 8 games. They'll take advantage of Orioles starter Jimmy Yacabonis. At the big league level, Yacabonis struggles with allowing too many walks. Look for him to again struggle with command here and the Mariners will take advantage. Bonus Play: Bet OVER in Baltimore in afternoon action Thursday!

MLB | Nationals vs Phillies
Play on: Phillies -126

Washington (Roark) @ Philadelphia (Nola) 7:05 PM ET

Game# 957-958

Play On: Philadelphia -126

Washington is a dismal 4-11 in their last 15 games and that includes 1-7 during their previous 8 on the road. Tanner Roark has been terrible during his last 3 starts while posting a large 8.16 ERA and 2.02 WHIP. Roark has been unimpressive in his 2 starts against Philadelphia this season and that’s proven by a 7.59 ERA during those appearances. Despite his recent struggles, Roark has a very respectable 1.22 WHIP during 15 starts in 2018. However, Philadelphia is an extremely profitable 16-4 this year when facing a National League starting pitcher with a season WHIP of 1.25 or less.

The Phillies are 7-0 at home this year when Aaron Nola is their starting pitcher, and their right-handed hurler’s 1.86 ERA throughout those outings has been a major reason for those successes. Nola will be facing a Washington lineup which has averaged a mere 2.4 runs scored per game thru its last 7 times out. Bet on Philadelphia as a money line wager for my Thursday 6/28 MLB free pick of the day.

MLB | Brewers vs Reds
Play on: Brewers -105 at BMaker

My Bonus Play is on the Mil Brewers at 7:10 ET. The 34-46 Cincinnati Reds are in last place in the NL Central, 12 1/2 games back of the first-place Milwaukee Brewers. However, the Reds improved to 9-1 in their last 10 games by rallying for a 6-5 win at NL East-leading Atlanta on Wednesday, the team's their fifth come-from-behind victory in that span. The Reds welcome the Brewers to Cincinnati tonight, as the division rivals begin a four-games series. Milwaukee has lost three of four after splitting a two-game interleague series against Kansas City (enter having also lost six of its last 10 games) but the Brewers have won five straight in the series, including a three-game sweep at Cincinnati from April 30-May 2.

Taking the mound in tonight's series opener will be Milwaukee's Junior Guerra (3-5, 2.82 ERA), opposed by Cincy's Anthony DeSclafani (3-1, 4.09 ERA. Guerra did not factor in the decision against St. Louis on Friday, extending his winless drought to seven starts despite striking out seven and giving up just one run on three hits over five-plus innings. Guerra is 0-2 in his last seven starts, with Milwaukee going 3-4. Guerra is 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA against Cincinnati in five games (including four starts) in his career.

DeSclafani enters having won his last three starts, after holding the Cubs to two runs on three hits over a season-high 6 1/3 innings in his last outing, while also helping himself by belting a grand slam. He also gave up two runs on three hits in his previous start at Pittsburgh, with all four runs in the past two starts coming via solo homers. DeSclafani is 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA in five appearances (four starts) versus the Brewers.

Yes, the Reds are the hotter team but the Brewers are easily the better team and while Guerra's record doesn't show it, he enters this contest having gone eighth consecutive starts in which he has not allowed more than three runs (2.62 ERA in that span). Guerra blanked the Reds on one hit over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision back on April 17, a game the Brewers won 2-0. I'll take the first-place club over the last-place one.

Good luck...Larry
