For a good meal visit Old Ebbit grill near the White House. Great food and reasonable for the area.

Jefferson Monument was spectacular in scale.

I agree with Defy-take the metro when going around. Great falls is pretty fun. I live in Arlington which is a second away from DC so I kind of take it for granted. Nats game should be fun. Not sure if you already have tickets, but if you get to the game early enough you can get 5$ seats. They are in left field but are just as good as most other upper level seats imo.

I reccomend getting food from Bens Chili Bowl at the game

Smithsonian Museums - Of note, all museums are free of charge so a visit definitely is a must.

Arlington - If you are there, visit the OIF/OEF plot. You'll most likely see grieving family members and it's a very sobering experience.

Ford's Theater - It's run by the park service and they give a great hour long presentation on the shooting of Lincoln. They have a museum in the basement that is pretty cool and you can then go across the street and see the bed in which he died in. Very good tour.

Thanks EF, that's cool that all the museums are free, did not know that.

tons to do, I think most of it has been mentioned

My must do's

Lincoln Memorial
Washington Monument
Capital Hill
Vietnam & WWII memorials

^^^^ all within walking distance

Arlington Cemetery is much better than it sounds
walk around Georgetown
drive down Embassy Row
visit at least one museum

things to pass:
the White House is a watered down tour IMO
the strip clubs suck, they're the worse

If you are a film buff and in Georgetown visit the famous house and outside stairwell from the Exorcist. A few of the Free Smithsonian museums have great I-MAX theatres and those movies are free as well, The International spy museum is great too ( but is not free)

I think the international spy museum is still running the 50 years of James Bond exhibit which is f-ing mind blowing if u are a Bond fan, but get there early as the lines for the spy museum are usually mind blowing as well.

If you head to Old Town, Alexandria, check out The Warehouse Bar and Grill. Awesome food.

Not to pull a 5-team, but was searching for something else and found this.

This was an insanely fucked up trip. All this advice with all these things to do, and we didn't leave her house once.

Now I feel like I need to go back.
