I see you haven't travelled the world. You should try it sometime. Some of the best service in the world is found in countries where tipping is not only unexpected, it is looked upon as an insult.

I see you haven't been in America long. You should pay attention to the much different culture that exists here vs. other countries. Service industries here where tipping is unexpected and not required provide some of the shitiest service you can imagine. I'd prefer if everything worked on tips... People would work much harder than they do here. Comparing the US mentality vs other countries' mentalities is ridiculous.

EDIT: It even goes out to the business world. You think Americans would try as hard as they do to hit their annual and quarterly estimates if bonuses weren't on the line? Hell no. Money is a great motivator

1. What is an example of "Service industries here where tipping is unexpected and not required provide some of the shitiest service you can imagine"?
2. Your "edit" actually supports my position. I never said money isn't a motivator. I simply said that tipping is stupid. Bonuses are not tips.

Tired of people bitching about having to pay for drinks - they try to act like its the only casino in the world that charges for drinks. That model may work in a destination casino with many casinos. It doesn't work where most players get on cars and go home. Or play low limit poker. Or not needed as place will be swamped daily because of its location / business model.

And no we are not the only casino that charges you for a drink. The other places I have worked at charge just as much. Oh --- if you bet enough most any place will take care of your drinks but you are not.

Money is a motivator, yet not tipping would provide just as good, if not better, service. ok.....

some more annoying things

1. when you go to payout a player and size into their stack and you accidently over pay them by 1 chip and they say ohhh you can leave it

2. when they hit a 3 card poker bet while playing bj and slide their whole stack on the bonus circle they werent playing and start giggling

3. telling you after the fact that they just knew they were going to hit a bonus hand or get blackjack this hand, that they should have bet the whole stack. never make this comment when they dont bet and it doesnt hit.

4. saying that the casino wrote basic strategy to screw over the players

5. going on and on about how the casino brought in the cooler dealer to clean out the table when everyone at said table is betting $5-10 a hand

BARBERPOLE BETTORS --- a stack of unorganized chips usually red and white.
Only annoying if uts a non-tipper betting all his white.

CONTINUAL LATE BETTORS -- making the same late (prop) bets in dice and roulette. "Watch yer hands!!!.

(i actually like it) but can be annoying to some....

Barber pole... that is hilarious. I will start using that. I had a guy the other day who had a bet over 1,000 with a mix of green, red, pink, and white.

#5. dont sit there and call me buddy, pal, friend etc and then never throw me a bone (especially if im dumping my tray to you). can't stand when players act like your best friends for an hr -hr 20 and take you for hundreds or thousands of dollars when your dealing to them and any time they get a black jack they just stack the whites and pinks onto your next bet. you will tip your waitress $1-2 for a drink whose at the table for 15 seconds, but not the person who worked for you for an hr+ and helped you make money.

You work for the casino not the player, you didnt help them make any money unless you were cheating and they didnt take YOUR money.

I tip dealers cuz its fun but the lot of you guys are pretty much entitled crybabies who dont appreciate that they
get paid fairly well to do a monkeys job(yes monkees can count to 21) although maybe you guys are more like
high priced babysitters considering the things that irritate you all.

ITs not about YOU , its about the customers. I agree that many are annoying, maybe you should make
a video series on youtube and that will help with the education.

Would you be happier to put up with all the silly stuff you talked about if the tips increased your pay say to around $30
per hour or would you still find something else to complain about?

over 80% of a dealers salary comes from tipping as opposed to from their casino, so no we really work for the players more than the casino. were cheap labor to them. if you think dealing is just counting to 21 your are sadly mistaken, i can guarantee you 4 out of 5 of my friends that have college degrees could not handle the pace/pressure/ and other aspects of the job on fast moving games like roulette or craps etc. and yes dealers help players make money, telling them basic strategy, answering general questions, bumping bets, stopping them from dumb plays etc.

even if your making 80 an hr, if you have to put up with stupid shit that doesnt make sense, its still going to annoy you. this is a gambling forum and im sure countless members here visit casinos and never really thought about the game from the dealers side. maybe these statements will help break a bad habit someone has or stop them from being the player every employee in the casino hates to see

But this thread sounds like crying. That's part of the job. Those annoying things will never go away. I could start a thread about things that dealers do that annoy me, like not thanking me when I give them a tip, or acting pissed when I walk up to an empty table. Or when they give me green chips instead of red chips even when I ask them otherwise. But I'm not going to start that thread because there is no point in doing that.

You are correct. You work for the player. It would be a good idea not to complain about everything the people you work for does.

The biggest annoyance of all is when I'm down 1000 and they finally give me a bj after losing 20 hands in a row then getting pissed at me for not giving a tip for the bj.

I tip big when I win, I won't tip if your wipping my ass. If you guys want to take credit when I'm winning you should also share in the blame when I'm losing
