I wish the creepy old fucker was still around, so he could have to face the devastation to Penn State that he played a active role in.

Just wanted to add 2 cents. In the 90s jopa did not like sandusky. He would not shake his hand or when they forced sandusky to retire.Jopa did not go to his retirement dinner. He knew and told people but he is still the scape goat! Why not hang Gov.corbett? He knew back then and did nothing, saying its still under investigation. So more kids got raped. Why not him or thefaculty? They knew.Yea make jopa and the football players be the scapegoats!Yes he should have retired long before but he didnt. The president and the rest should be permanently banned from all schools, they are the guilty ones!

Finally, the evidence I have been waiting for. JoePa did not shake Sandusky's hand so JoePa is finally vindicated!!! Hey Mokoman, if JoePa was so innocent why did he let Sandusky roam the PSU football facilities until October of 2011, the very place where JoePa was told Sandusky was raping a child in 2001! At a bare minimum JoePa could have told Sandusky to stay the hell out of all PSU football facilities and he was persona non grata at all PSU football events. If he would have at least done that he would have gotten some credit in my book but he did not even do that. Most likely because some reporter may have asked the question "Why is a former player and long-time PSU coach not allowed in the football facilities or around practice" which would have unraveled the entire situation.

First of all i didnt say jopa was innocent. He knew.and he did not own the stadium or the facilities. What im saying is he reported it to HIS SUPERIORS,they said will look at it.Next week, hey what ever happened with went on in the locker and they tell him dont worry about it.So just say its right in the height of football season and you worried about getting the wins record and you have alziemers, because of the way he ran an offense you think he did.He was pissed and wanted no part of sandusky!Yes he was wrong for not pushing it further but the people in charge, yes he wasnt president nor vice president so they should be held (more accountable than him). What about Gov. Corbett. He was told about it at that time?More people got raped afterwars. Why isnt he charged? He was in charge of the investigation when it was 1st reported!

If that was me(the ncaa) i would. a-wait until there was a different investigation with all the facts! Then i would a- take those wins from jopa,(not the school).B-fine the school 100 million dollars. c-1 year ban football,d-ban all faculty members and all school officials from ever being invold in any sports! Then ask gov.corbet why he let the investigation go on for so long.

I think the punishment was just about right.
Only other thing I wish they would have added is getting kicked out of the Big 10.
Force them to be an indy.

And one other thing.
This is not just a JoePa issue.
This is a Penn St issue.
I think every single athletic program at PSU should have got some punishment.

The football team the most of course.
But the athletic department in charge of all PSU sports should get punished for every sport in the PSU program.

Your so far off base with this. Joe Pa was the one who convinced his superiors to let it go and not go to the authorities with Mcquery.

If you believe for one second that the AD and President hid this without Joe's knowledge then you are VERY naive.

I believe Joe is as big of a piece of scum as anyone else here for all his lack of actions but how can you say that(the red text) as if it is 100% fact?

I can't. But Joe was a part of email chains discussing the matter so you can make your own conclusions on what happened. Whatever/however Joe wanted to happen in Happy Valley, happened. They asked him to retire on 01' and he told them to go fuck themselves. He hired the AD. The AD played for Joe. There is no doubt what happened here, that is why the former director of the FBI slammed him and his cohorts so badly in his report.

I think the penalties are too harsh too. The people who committed the crimes will suffer the consequences. They will serve time in jail, they will be relieved of many of their assets and their reputations have been ruined for life. Those are the people that should be punished, and they will be. The school should also be punished. A loss of scholarships and a two year post season ban plus some smaller monetary amount is also warranted. The school will also be paying a lot of legal settlements, and that too is justified.

No program should ever be given the death penalty again. It's not fair to the players, the students, the alumni and the entire community. Thousands of jobs would be lost by innocent people that rely on football season to survive, there's no justification for that. A four year bowl banning is almost akin to a death penalty, it certainly is a program killing punishment. Don't think you improve this world by destroying part of it.

As for vacating victories, that's just bureaucrats being bureaucrats, a waste of DNA

The idea of hitting ALL PSU sports is an interesting one. IF the AD knew, and the AD is in charge of ALL sports, then maybe any NCAA penality SHOULD be directed at all sports the AD had control over.
