they just showed the episode where Omar jumps out of the apartment window after being shot at by Marlo's guys. I think if you have hbo on demand you can actually see one episode ahead, but I have not checked to confirm this.

I don't know how he could have lived it was about 5 stories up.

McNulty playing that lying reporter like a fiddle.

I get a kick out of Snoop Pearson.
Facinating show but you have to pay attention.

What the hell is this show about? I catch partial shows every once in a while and it seems to jump around quite a bit and I really haven't gotten into it. Someone let me know if I should TIVO it and what it's about please.

Jake, rent season 1 and start from the beginning. It's about the darker side of life in Baltimore, or any major city for that matter. Each season focuses on one particular area (drugs, schools, media, politics, etc) and tying them all together. The constant is the Baltimore PD and struggle for drug real estate.

Definitely worth your time.

Couple of things that I have not really understood up to the last episode:

1. What is Marlo trying to do with the greek? Is he just trying to get his drug business or buy his drugs from the greek or what?

2. The older smart black guy detective that is working with Mcnulty on the faulty wire tap thing, What did he hear at the very end of the last episode on the wire tap that was such a big deal?

If you try to watch this show with something else going on, you may as well give up bc it will pass u right on by. Either that or I'm really stupid and I know thats not it.

1)He's trying to get the drugs directly from the Greek.

2) Marlo is using the cell phone and not saying anything. 30 seconds of silence than a hang up.

best show on tv without a doubt. jake, like someone sugggested, rent season one and go from there. you'll be hooked.

is this the last season? i thought they were doing one more. how this show isn't more popular is a mystery. i think b/c it is too realistic and not sensationlistic enough like the shield/24 and countless other shows. also if you've never been around the ghetto element, you might not understand half the shit that is said.

1. The Greek said they only deal to one person. they didnt want everyone having contact with them. So Marlo gave them a lot of money as insurance policy in case anything bad happened to Prop Joe. and it did.

2. im not sure he heard anything as much as he was excited that Marlo is now using a cell and he has it already

thanks for pointing out that they did spot Omar earlier staking out the condo. i forgot about that.

I think Lester heard static when he thought he was going to be hearing one of Marlo's cell phone conversations, and that is why he said "what the hell?"

I thought the last episode was great because it looked like Marlo was getting closed in on by both Omar and the cops, but somehow came out on top on both fronts.

I also found it strange that none of the police commented on Prop Joe's murder. He had to have been known as a drug kingpin by the cops, so his murder should have been noticed.

No cops are working drug cases anymore, is the only reason that they would let it go unnoticed. When they mentioned the 3 recent murders, they said a "joe something" was shot in his apartment. I dont know if that was him or not.

The cops would still assign a detective to Prop Joe's murder, and Prop Joe should have been well-known, is all I am saying. Joe's name came up in the newsroom as a murder victim, but the newsies didn't know who he was.

Really good article on The Wire's creator, David Simon in the March issue of Esquire. Talks about his 13 years as a writer for the Baltimore Sun.

Damn, only 3 left? It feels like they need about 15 more to get it done right.

Yea... That's what I was thinking... I don't know how they will finish it in 3 more shows... I hope there are more but from what I read there was 10 total...
