For my wife and me and my closer family members, the past 7+ years have been the best so far in our lives to date. President Obama and the SCOTUS played significant roles, though of course we would have rocked steady regardless.
Great to know that my wife - unlike in late 2008 - can no longer be denied access to mainstream health care insurance. Great to see my sister, my primary business partners here in Florida and tens of thousands of other gay Americans being legally married.
Only thing better for us than the past 7+ years will be the one in front of us and the next eight after that. If you do not view the next nine years of your own life with equal or greater optimism than perhaps you might take some time off from complaining about elected officials and reset your priorities in life to assure your increased happiness.

Worst president ever . When history looks back on this last 8 years, it will become obvious how much damage to our economy this man has done , for which as at least up until now , he has basically been given a pass. ( so many other issues with this fool that I guess something had to be considered the least bad ) The trillion dollar stimulus package, obamacare, the endless anti business choking regulations, all the moral hazards of artificially manipulating interest rates, staggering deficits , a bloated federal reserve balance sheet that back stopped all this nonsense and cannot be unwound . When it all bursts , just pray capitalism and free markets are not blamed, since they don't exist anymore .
