Doctor, you must come immediately.

Why? What's up?

The entire Cubs team is outside in the ER and they are bleeding profusely!

Bleeding?

Yes, from the ass. Bleeding from the ass.

They suck, don't they?

Yes, doctor, they do.

Well, there's nothing I can do for them...they suck and will just get it in the ass next time too. Let 'em bleed.

Alright, Doc, it's your call...are you sure?

Yes...let 'em bleed.

What have the Cubs done to upgrade their roster and compete in the NL Central since Baker took over?

"Baker sucks!"

What personnel moves has the GM made to improve this club?

"Baker sucks!"

Can anyone tell me why this team should be any better than when Baker arrived considering the personnel has stayed the same or gotten worse each season?

"Baker sucks!"

Since Baker arrived:
2004: 89-73
2003: 88-74

Before Baker arrived:
2002: 67-95 - 30 games back

This team was 67-95 the year before Baker arrived...he took that same team the next season and went 88-74. This was done without personnel upgrades.

I don't think there is any doubt the other teams in that division have gotten better with their roster...what have the Cubs done?

The blame goes to the GM and the front office. Baker has proven what he can do...this GM has done nothing.

The false impression that this team should be any good was the over-achieving they accomplished when Baker took over.

How do you like that. They get 2 hit for 8 innings then in the 9th when its 9-0. They get 2 strait hits to start the inning. Talk about hitting in the clutch.:finger:

I am never going to bet on the Cubs ever again.

They lose every time. No joke. Checking my records, I've played the Cubs nine times this season and I'm a solid 0-9.

This team is a fucking joke.

Yes the Cubs do suck, in fact we always have sucked! The only difference is that somehow we all started to expect them to win? Dusty should get fired, but he is not the only reason that we suck. It would be nice if the players at least acted like losing bothered them! It bothers us, the fans, a hell of a lot more than them! It pisses me off to see no enthusiasm, fire or extra effort from the players! That is where the coach is at fault for not firing at them when they are loafing! I took my Cub flag down this morning! It is now, as always about this time of year, football season! I can use all the extra time that I'll have working on my fantasy football draft!!! This just in.....we still suck!

Hey, Kyle Orton looked pretty decent last night. Off-topic for sure, but the Windy City deserves a fun fall after another dismal summer at Wrigley.

Squeeze, it is a beautiful thing getting to watch football! (even if it is pre-season!) I can't wait until college football starts! It's all part of the healing process of being a Cub fan! After saying that I was disappointed in my Cubs and changing the channel, my 6 year old son asked me, "Daddy, why don't you just find another team to root for?" I could only say that it was a very good question and I'd think about it, but I don't want to quit on my team even when they quit on me! Funny how kids see things so much clearer than we do?

Lets see, they stole Ramirez, Lee, Nomar, Barrett, Simon, I'm sure others. Signed Maddux, Burnitz, Walker, Dempster.

You are right - Baker has proven what he can do. I want him to do it next year in LA, where he belongs. The only people who think he is doing a great job are the dumbasses on Baseball Tonight, and Fox. Baker wanted to raise the standards, now he dosen't want the fans to boo. Which is it Dusty? I would like to see a team that looks like they care out there.

Can I get an 'Amen' to what my brother Fair Warning said? The least they could do is act like they give a shit! I never wanted to believe it, but I once heard that CUB is the Indian word for LOSER!!! We need Dallas Green back! Anybody that will get fired up after a loss to a weak team!
Ok, I feel better now. Pass the Jack please.

Lee was great...1 out of 9 isn't bad.

Nomar and Maddux are 2 of their 3 highest paid players...how is that stealing from anyone?

While they were busy "stealing" these players, they were watching Alou, McGriff, and everyone in their bullpen leave.

Where did they upgrade at any position?

McStiff was horrible. If he ever hit the ball, he couldn't round first base without his walker getting in the way! As for Alou, we do miss his bat but I bet he allowed at least 2 hits per series that a good defensive player would have turned into an out. And I have to think that Ramirez was a HUGE upgrade and a steal considering we only gave up 3 magic beans to get him!

McGriff also hit 30 HRs and drove in 100 RBIs as a Cub...you don't think they could use that bat?

Alou might not be a great defensive outfielder...but it isn't like they have Gold Glove candidates out there now. At least you get his bat. You would rather have Burnitz?

Let's not forget they also lost Sosa's 40 HRs 100+ RBIs a year (even though it was good to get rid of him). But the point is, all they have done is replace these numbers...there were no upgrades.

Not to mention that since Dusty has been here Prior and Zambrano have been added to the rotation.

Tell me a contender who wouldn't have taken Nomar, outside of the Yankees? What did the Cubs give up for him - nothing. Maddux has been one of their better pitchers this year.

What is Alou doing this year that is so great? He make the All-Star team, but so did Danny Baez. Nice try on McGriff, he was done. Bullpen, lost no one that great.

Dusty would be better off on "The No Spin Zone" on Fox News.

Prior started 19 games the year before Baker arrived (he started 21 last season).

Zambrano pitched in 32 games (16 starts) the year before Baker arrived and 31 games (31 starts) last season.

They also had Clement and Lieber (20-game winner in 2001) in their rotation before Baker arrived.

Like I keep asking...where are the upgrades from when he arrived and took over a team that couldn't win 70 games?

Alou would be a HUGE asset this season in the Cub lineup. He is putting up solid numbers without any protection in the Giants lineup.

McGriff was definitely heading downhill...but still hit .273 with 30 HRs and 103 RBIs...who is giving them those numbers this season?

Maddux as one of their best pitchers? And you are saying McGriff was through even with the numbers he put up...what about Maddux. The only pitching stats he is leading the club with are hits and HRs given up. A 4.57 ERA with an 8-9 record. Call me crazy, but for $9 mill a year, there are much better options available.
