Hard to believe one of POPS ex assistants would basically be the exact opposite of POPS when it comes to minute control. POPS gets bitched at for leaving starters home on road trips.

You figure has top ex assistant would not go the exact opposite direction.

Thibs was Doc assistant in Boston and Van Gundy in Houston. Never was under Pop.

He has talked about it before and just says he wants his team to have continuity throught the year or some other rah-rah BS. I think he is just a few years behind the curve in managing minutes.

My bad. For some reason I thought he was in S.A

Dont know what made me think that.

They've just been mashing buttons and making moves like their owner is gonna die soon and they needed to win ASAP. Oh wait, he is going to die soon.

That seems to be the case.
What do you think the odds are of N.O winning a title in the next 5 years?
All I keep hearing is the experts saying AD is going to win titles in NO.

I just don't see anything in place besides AD to build around .

There is not a single player on that team besides AD that is not a glorified role player

Assuming he stays which is likely given the way the CBA is setup (it is hard to leave after your rookie deal but not impossible, just haven't really see anyone do it under the current system which spans back to '99 with some adjustments along the way)

Hmm no clue really. Nowhere close with the current team, they just don't really have many good pieces. That Noel deal was awful, he looked pretty good 2nd half of the year and once he learns to play NBA D he should be a player. 2 1sts for Jrue, 1 1st for Asik. Just bad moves already.

With the cap going up if Davis makes 25 they will have 65-75 to spend on other players (most of their current players contracts are up soon) I can't really put a # on it because no clue who they will get.

Might be like a LeBron/KG/David Robinson thing where you're just on your own.

Yea the Noel deal was a joke. Demps should have been run just for that one move.

what a joke.

So now I have to trust the guy who made that idiotic trade and others to make the right moves with the cap money.

Yeah that 65-75 isn't as much as it looks like either. Player contracts are about to go through the roof.

10-12 is gonna be the new norm for anyone decent. For example, Tristan Thompson on the Cavs will get 12-13mill a year this summer.

Still they could build a nice team if they play it right.

Haha, JSmoove!!! At the beginning of the season Mantis and I were talking about him almost every day about how garbage he is and the reason the Pistons were sucking. I don't know what is more surprising, Smith playing like that or Austin Rivers playing like he has this playoffs.

He should tell McHale I got us here so I got the green light in game 7

Would you trade LJ for AD?

yeah clearly, hes like 10yrs younger

LeBron is still a machine but I think it is safe to say he is off his absolute apex. Lowest PER in 6 years, defense has slipped some.

I was just reminded of that thread at the beginning of the season when I said no NBA would trade AD for LJ then AK basically said I needed to be commited for making such an insane comment.

AD is now the most valuable commodity in the NBA.
100% indisputable

You are simply wrong

Christ you are so ridiculous. It's not that you are always wrong (you are), but it's that you're always SO SURE you're right. You remind me of my ex wife in that regard.

But let me clarify.
Cleveland could possibly be the one and only team in the league that would/could not make that trade for obvious reasons.

But if AD and LJ were in next years NBA draft all 30 teams would take AD #1.

You know I have never been able to put my finger on it until now.
You nailed it.
Its not his strong opinions that I have a problem with its the fact that he always thinks he's 100% right and everyone else is always 100% wrong.

Especially on a subject like this one when it's really not even a debate.
Every team in the NBA would draft AD #1 if he and LJ were in next years draft.

LMFAO!!! Yea, I have horrible reading comprehension. They really need to enforce an age check on this site. No way these comments can come from adults. Even dumb adults wouldn't make these comments.
