the Bears are actually under-rated.

Here's one for you: Indy's opponents record is 55-89
Chicago's Opponenets record is 62-82
You can tilt this stupid "stength of schedule" argument any way you want but the facts are right there.

You do realize that Indy & Chicago play schedule strength 32 & 31 respectively, right? Or in other words. The two WEAKEST schedules in the NFL?
For reference, the schedule has always been able to make a poor/average team look good/superb in the NFL. We'll see all 5 weakest schedules teams in the playoffs. The facts are right there. You'er right.

I don't base anything on the team records...that makes no sense. Houston would be a .500 team if they played Chicago's schedule.

What does a team record have to do with playing against bad offenses?

You have already admitted they are not a good "team". If they played in the AFC, they wouldn't even be talked about.

You are trying to play this "I am the only one who thinks the Bears are underrated" role...but I hate to break it to you, there are a lot more people that are sold on the Bears than there are people saying they suck.

I am one that does believe they are an average team at best. Solid defense as I keep saying. But hardly one of the "best ever".

Houston is TERRIBILE and saying they would be .500 in the NFC is plain retarded. How are you coming up with thoughts like this. This is worthless trying to get my point across to you when you say things like the above comment.
If you asked 100 NFL "experts" who had the best defense hands down in NFL, I bet 90 would say Chicago.
The Nfl schedule is no longer set-up the old style way which was last place team from year previous plays a last place schedule, they got rid of that a few years back.

Let's see...Houston lost to Cincinnati by 6, (Chicago lost by 17), they beat Cleveland 16-10 (Chicago lost by 10), and lost to Baltimore by 1 (Chicago won by 4)...those are their 3 common opponents with Chicago.

Houston and Chicago went 1-2 against those 3 teams.

Houston gave up 16 points in all 3 games. Do they get to wear the "great defense" title also? The Bears gave up 50 points to those 3 teams.

If Houston is terrible...what does that say for the Bears?

The only problem I see for the if the played in the afc, they wouldnt even be talked about comment is...

If the Bears beat Pittsburgh next week and hold them to under 10 points.

Then we have some serious trouble brewing in the NFL. No matter how sucky the Bears offense is.

whats bad is Indy's scheduale will be almost as easy next year. They'll play, Hou, Jax, and Tenn twice, (6 games), they play the AFC east Buf, NE, Mia, NYJ, and they play the NFC East, Dal Phily, Wash, and NYG. plus the other 2 first place finsihers in the AFC. But at least everyone will get to see that Manning, Manning game that apparently everyone wants to see.

That's odd...you were just saying everyone thinks they are overrated and not very good. Pretty good argument you have going when you can use the opinions to play both sides of the fence.

This is my last post in here. when someone tries to compare the WORST team in football to a good team, they have lost all credability to me. How can I argue this with someone. This is borderline embarassing.
Once again I will leave you with another good stat. NFC vs AFC 24-24. Am I saying the NFc is better? no Just a lot closer than you think. But numbers don't matter to you. In Clip's world Indy's dee is better than the Bears and Houston is .500 team, wow!!!! :biggrinin :monsters- Good luck trying to justify these commments. I'll let you have the rest of the thread to try and convince everyone else.:howdy:

Bears are a Brad Johnson away from a Super Bowl championship. Sadly, I don't think he is on their roster. Surprised, they don't say much about Jeff Blake on the Bears.

More great "facts".

:lolBIG:

"Public opinion and tv/radio keeps saying the Bears stink"...no, wait..."If you ask 100 people, 90 will tell you the Bears are the best"

It doesn't matter that Houston plays well against the same mediocre teams the Bears get to rack their stats up against...the NFC North is just as good as the AFC South that Houston has to match up against.

:lolBIG:

Trust me bro...anyone with half a clue about football is getting a much bigger laugh out of your argument than mine.

Bears are a tad overrated based on hype they are receiving. Without Vasher they are a .500 team. I guarantee that they do not win 2 playoff games, might get 1 at home depending on matchup.

Bump for Bears believers now that they have given up 21 points to the offensively inept Steelers.
