I can't believe I just listened to an hour of that garbage...

Duemig did post once upon a time. The best part of getting xm radio for Xmas was not having to listen to him on the way home.

Thomas was unmatched in his knowledge of gambling. His Friday football shows were better than a regular paycheck. When he passed on, Steve tried to take on that role.

A lot of people really buy into his act. He tries to portray himself as "sharp", but he really doesn't know what he's talking about. He contradicts himself constantly, sometimes in the same call or segment. He puts some touts on and tries to make himself sound like one of them by throwing around some Vegas-sounding language around. It's embarassing to listen to him. As for picking games, he's the king of the after-the-fact "I had that one last week". Again, he contradicts himself so much that he might have had all sides of every game by the time the week is over. A sober Whitney Johnson (if there is such a thing--doesn't he always sound drunk and incoherent?), a rotation schedule, and a dart board would get you more winners.

Steve's a nice guy, but he's about as "sharp" as a marshmallow.

Yep and I heard him the other day still - after being a supposed "sports handicapper" for many years - refer to the Totals line in MLB betting as the "runline".

Duemig was OK back in the day. He really has a very limited knowledge of gambling. He also might be pre alzheimers. He forgets things and repeats things not on purpose all the time. The only guy I listen to when I go down on business once a month is the afternoon guy on ESPN 1040, Marc Bednarzyk. The guy is probably too good for that market but he really gets it, is opinionated and very entertaining.

I liked Thomas when he was in Baltimore, but he was a little self absorbed. I remember one Sunday night sportscast during NFL season when he devoted the entire 10 minutes to showing highlights of a bad beat he had on some meaningless game that no one cared about except him.
