GAME: Milwaukee Brewers (53-47) at Philadelphia Phillies (33-62)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 1:35 PM EST
WHERE: Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Milwaukee Brewers look to maintain their precarious lead in the National League Central on Sunday in the rubber match of a three-game series against the host Philadelphia Phillies. Domingo Santana delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the ninth on Saturday as the Brewers snapped a season-high six-game losing streak with a 9-8 victory over the last-place Phillies.

After being held out of the starting lineup for the previous three games due to a wrist injury, left fielder Ryan Braun provided a much-needed spark Saturday by going 3-for-3 with four RBIs as the Brewers erupted for 13 hits after scoring a total of 12 runs during their losing skid. Third baseman Travis Shaw added his 22nd homer to help the Brewers maintain their one-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the division. Philadelphia saw its modest three-game winning streak come to an end despite another strong performance from center fielder Odubel Herrera, who had four hits and is batting .331 since June 1. Outfielder Howie Kendrick, one of several Phillies who could be moved before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, went 1-for-5 in his first start since landing on the disabled list with a left hamstring strain on June 28.

TV: 1:35 p.m. ET, FSN Wisconsin (Milwaukee), CSN Philadelphia

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Junior Guerra (1-3, 4.77 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Jerad Eickhoff (1-7, 4.83)

Guerra is still seeking his second win after receiving a no-decision last Tuesday, when he came off the disabled list and allowed three runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings against Pittsburgh. “It’s the best we’ve seen him this year,” manager Craig Counsell told reporters. "It's really something positive to build on.” The 32-year-old allowed three runs over six frames and received a no-decision in his only career start against Philadelphia on June 4, 2016.

Eickhoff entered the All-Star break with five scoreless innings against San Diego but took a step back last Monday by allowing five runs over six innings against Miami. The 27-year-old has walked a total of 16 batters over his last six starts covering 30 2/3 innings. Eickhoff faced the Brewers twice last season, going 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA over 12 innings.

WALK-OFFS

1. Milwaukee activated INF Eric Sogard (ankle) from the disabled list prior to Saturday’s game and optioned OF Keon Broxton to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

2. Phillies manager Pete Mackanin said OF Aaron Altherr, who was originally expected to miss another 2-3 weeks with a strained right hamstring, could be activated as soon as Tuesday.

3. Braun is batting .379 with 22 home runs and 61 RBIs in 62 career games against the Phillies.

GAME: Houston Astros (65-32) at Baltimore Orioles (46-51)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 1:35 PM EST
WHERE: Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore, Maryland
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Houston Astros seek their ninth sweep of the season and seventh on the road when they finish a three-game series at the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. The Astros have won eight straight meetings with the Orioles and 11 of the last 12 after Saturday's come-from-behind 8-4 triumph.

Marwin Gonzalez's three-run shot in the sixth gave Houston a 6-4 lead and it was one of three homers on the night for the Astros, who improved to 35-11 on the road. Houston endured a scare when third baseman Colin Moran fouled a ball off his face in the sixth inning and was carted off the field, but Gonzalez replaced him at the plate and promptly struck the decisive blow. The Orioles have given up 23 runs over the last three games as the American League's worst pitching staff (5.14 ERA) continues to be a major issue. Dylan Bundy will try to reverse that trend when he opposes Lance McCullers Jr. for the Astros.

TV: 1:35 p.m. ET, TBS, AT&T SportsNet Southwest (Houston), MASN (Baltimore)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Astros RH Lance McCullers Jr. (7-2, 3.28 ERA) vs. Orioles RH Dylan Bundy (9-8, 4.18)

McCullers has managed to last beyond five innings just twice in his last six starts and has given up 14 runs in 14 1/3 innings over his last three. He finished May with six solid innings to beat Baltimore at home and improve to 6-1 with a 2.48 ERA, but his slump began six days later at Texas. The former first-round pick is 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA in his career against the Orioles but he has never pitched in Camden Yards.

Bundy has just two quality starts over his last six turns but one came against Texas on Tuesday, when he allowed a run and four hits in six innings. He owns a solid 3.62 ERA in 10 home starts this year and is 9-7 with a 3.44 mark in his career at Camden Yards. The 24-year-old Bundy failed to retire a batter in a relief appearance and gave up a walk-off single in his only prior meeting with Houston last season.

WALK-OFFS

1. Orioles 2B Jonathan Schoop has homered in three games in a row and owns at least one RBI in six straight.

2. Baltimore CF Adam Jones has 1,546 hits with the team, one shy of tying Nick Markakis for seventh on the all-time list.

3. Astros C Evan Gattis has hit safely in 14 of his last 15 games to raise his average from .264 to .292.

GAME: Detroit Tigers (44-52) at Minnesota Twins (49-47)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 2:10 PM EST
WHERE: Target Field, Minneapolis, Minnesota
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Minnesota Twins avoided what could have been a damaging loss and now have a chance win the series when they host the Detroit Tigers for the rubber match of a three-game set on Sunday afternoon. The Twins raced to a six-run lead Saturday and posted 14 hits, but had to hold on tight for a 6-5 victory to remain 1 1/2 games behind first-place Cleveland in the American League Central.

Minnesota had lost six of nine overall, and five of seven against Detroit, before registering the win as Eddie Rosario and Jason Castro each recorded two hits and an RBI to give the Twins their ninth victory in the last 32 meetings with the Tigers. Adalberto Mejia gets the start for Minnesota in the finale against fellow left-hander Matthew Boyd, who ended a long losing streak last time out. The Tigers could be without former MVP Miguel Cabrera (right clavicle contusion), who is day-to-day after missing the second game of the series and has 41 career homers against the Twins. Justin Upton is 8-for-18 during a five-game hitting streak and has eight RBIs against Minnesota this season while Detroit’s Alex Presley has hit safely in nine straight contests (14-for-32).

TV: 2:10 p.m. ET, FSN Detroit, FSN North (Minnesota)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Tigers LH Matthew Boyd (3-5, 5.58 ERA) vs. Twins LH Adalberto Mejia (4-4, 4.22)

Boyd snapped an eight-game winless streak after coming back from the minors to beat Kansas City on Tuesday while allowing three runs over six innings. The 26-year-old Oregon State product was sent down after going 0-4 during that eight-game slump that began when he permitted two runs over 4 1/3 innings against the Twins. Robbie Grossman is 5-for-10 with a homer versus Boyd, who is 4-1 with a 3.38 ERA in seven starts against Minnesota.

Mejia has solidified his spot in the rotation by yielding just 10 runs combined in his last six starts that encompassed 34 1/3 innings, going 3-2 in that stretch. The 24-year-old Dominican Republic native limited the New York Yankees to one run over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision last time out Monday in a 4-2 victory. Upton is 2-for-2 with a homer against Mejia, who gave up three runs over 2 2/3 innings in a no-decision April 22 versus Detroit.

WALK-OFFS

1. Detroit SS Jose Iglesias is 7-for-13 against the Twins this season after notching a pair of hits in Saturday’s setback.

2. Minnesota 2B Brian Dozier has hit safely in eight straight games, going 11-for-33 with six RBIs during the run.

3. The Tigers have won just once in 40 games when trailing after six innings this season.

GAME: Chicago White Sox (38-56) at Kansas City Royals (49-47)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 2:15 PM EST
WHERE: Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Kansas City Royals began their current homestand in rough fashion, but they are finishing it with a flourish. The surging Royals seek their fifth consecutive win to cap off the 10-game stay at Kauffman Stadium when they take on the Chicago White Sox in the finale of a three-game series Sunday afternoon.

Two homers by Mike Moustakas and long balls by three others propelled the Royals to a 7-2 victory Saturday night, giving them 30 runs over the past three contests and a 5-4 record on the homestand. Whit Merrifield did not homer but had an RBI single in two at-bats and is batting .351 since the All-Star break for Kansas City, which is 24-2 since June 1 when scoring at least four runs. The White Sox have dropped a season-high eight straight games, matching the team's longest slide since a nine-gamer in 2013. Melky Cabrera has been one of the few bright spots for Chicago and he went 4-for-4 on Saturday, his second four-hit effort during the slide.

TV: 2:15 p.m. ET, CSN Chicago, FSN Kansas City

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox LH Derek Holland (5-9, 5.09 ERA) vs. Royals LH Travis Wood (1-3, 6.81)

Holland finished May with a 2.37 ERA through 10 starts, but he has given up at least five runs in six of eight starts since June began. The veteran southpaw, who was reached for six runs (five earned) in 5 2/3 innings of a no-decision against Seattle his last time out, has an ERA of 18.44 over his last four road outings. He visited Kansas City on May 4 during his hot start and let up one earned run in 6 2/3 frames, improving to 3-1 lifetime versus the Royals.

Wood's first start after 25 relief appearances resulted in a solid four innings against Minnesota on July 2, but he followed that up with a rocky showing in a loss to Detroit on Tuesday. The one-time All-Star surrendered six runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 frames against the Tigers, which left him 35-51 in his career as a starter. The 30-year-old has a 6.65 ERA in eight career games (three starts) versus Chicago and White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu is 4-for-5 with three doubles against Wood.

WALK-OFFS

1. Moustakas is 9-for-20 during a five-game hitting streak and has homered in consecutive contests after going nine straight without a long ball.

2. White Sox top prospect 2B Yoan Moncada was 0-for-3 on Saturday and is 1-for-9 with a pair of walks since being recalled earlier in the week.

3. The Royals recalled RHP Jake Junis from Triple-A Omaha and optioned OF Billy Burns to Omaha.

GAME: Pittsburgh Pirates (49-49) at Colorado Rockies (57-42)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 3:10 PM EST
WHERE: Coors Field, Denver, Colorado
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ dramatic climb up the National League Central standings stalled briefly Saturday as the team placed its hottest hitter on the disabled list and saw its six-game winning streak come to an end. Pittsburgh looks to bounce back Sunday in the rubber match of a three-game series against the host Colorado Rockies, who have moved into a virtual tie with the Arizona Diamondbacks for the top NL wild card spot.

Right fielder Gregory Polanco was batting .387 in 17 games this month but will be sidelined for the next few weeks with a strained left hamstring, causing manager Clint Hurdle to platoon John Jaso, Adam Frazier and Jose Ozuna in his absence. Hurdle continues to rave about rookie first baseman Josh Bell, who had four hits and four RBIs on Friday and belted his 18th home run in Saturday’s loss. The importance of this weekend’s series was not lost on Colorado manager Bud Black, who had closer Greg Holland record his first multi-inning save of the season on Saturday. Third baseman Nolan Arenado contributed two hits with an RBI and is batting .432 with seven homers and 20 RBIs over his last 10 games.

TV: 3:10 p.m. ET, AT&T SportsNet-Pittsburgh, AT&T SportsNet-Rocky Mountain (Colorado)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Pirates RH Ivan Nova (10-6, 3.27 ERA) vs. Rockies LH Kyle Freeland (9-7, 3.67)

Nova won his second straight start last Tuesday, allowing three runs on 10 hits over six frames against Milwaukee. The 30-year-old has pitched at least six innings in 18 of his first 19 starts while posting an impressive 73-to-16 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Charlie Blackmon is 4-for-8 with two home runs against Nova, who faced the Rockies twice as a member of the New York Yankees and went 0-2 with an 8.40 ERA.

Freeland is returning to the rotation after tossing three scoreless innings of relief against the New York Mets last Saturday. The Rockies began actively monitoring the rookie's workload after he threw 8 1/3 innings of no-hit ball against the Chicago White Sox in his last start on July 9. The Denver native struggled in his first start against Pittsburgh on June 12, allowing five runs (four earned) on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings of a 7-2 loss.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Pirates have won 10 of their last 11 games at Coors Field, dating back to July 27, 2014.

2. Colorado OF Gerardo Parra is 20-for-39 with two homers and 12 RBIs in his last 10 games.

3. The Pirates recalled LHP Steven Brault from Triple-A Indianapolis to replace Polanco on the roster.

GAME: Boston Red Sox (55-44) at Los Angeles Angels (48-51)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 3:37 PM EST
WHERE: Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Anaheim, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The season-long search for a regular third baseman lingers on for the Boston Red Sox, who are actively seeking a solution prior to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. In the meantime, the Red Sox look to extend their lead in the American League East on Sunday as they face the host Los Angeles Angels in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Brock Holt went 0-for-3 in Saturday’s 7-3 loss and is one of six different players to man the hot corner this season for the Red Sox, who may look outside the organization for help in order to give top prospect Rafael Devers more time to develop at Triple-A Pawtucket. Boston was held to six hits in Saturday’s loss as Hanley Ramirez made his third start of the week at first base and went 1-for-4, giving him five hits in his last 32 at-bats. The Angels have lost nine of their last 14 games but continue to receive strong support from their bullpen, which has limited Boston to no runs and one hit over the last two games covering eight innings. Albert Pujols went 3-for-4 with two RBIs in Saturday’s victory and is batting .321 in 43 career games against Boston.

TV: 3:37 p.m. ET, NESN (Boston), FSN West (Los Angeles)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox RH Rick Porcello (4-12, 4.60 ERA) vs. Angels RH Parker Bridwell (3-1, 3.18)

Porcello leads the major leagues in losses but has pitched well in his last two outings, allowing a total of two earned runs with no walks in 14 innings. The 2016 AL Cy Young winner has pitched at least six innings in each of his last 17 starts, the longest active streak in the majors. Kole Calhoun is 7-for-15 with two home runs against Porcello, who is 6-6 with a 6.11 ERA in 15 career starts against the Angels.

Bridwell continued to impress last Sunday against Tampa Bay, allowing two runs on six hits with a career-high eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old rookie has posted a 2.04 ERA in three road starts while registering a 4.09 ERA in four games at Angel Stadium. Bridwell, who has pitched at least six innings in each of his last four starts, limited Boston to two runs over 6 2/3 innings in a 4-2 victory on June 25.

WALK-OFFS

1. Boston’s past 12 games have all been decided by four runs or fewer.

2. The Angels are 25-13 against Boston since 2012.

3. The Red Sox are expected to activate INF Josh Rutledge (concussion) from the disabled list on Monday.

GAME: San Diego Padres (42-55) at San Francisco Giants (38-61)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 4:05 PM EST
WHERE: AT&T Park, San Francisco, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

After working overtime in consecutive games, the host San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres will tangle one more time Sunday in the finale of a four-game series. The National League West rivals have split a pair of extra-inning games the past two days, with San Diego winning in 11 innings Friday and San Francisco rallying to win 5-4 in 12 innings Saturday.

Nick Hundley’s game-winning RBI single in the 12th gave the Giants their first win of the series after San Diego had claimed the first two contests. It was only the Padres’ second loss in their last nine games at AT&T Park. "I can tell you this, there were two tired teams out there," Giants manager Bruce Bochy told reporters. "But both clubs kept fighting. It was a great win for us after losing a very tough one last night." Both bullpens have been taxed in the series, but San Diego’s relievers are particularly overworked, having been called upon to pitch 30 1/3 innings over the first six games of their road trip.

TV: 4:05 p.m. ET, FSN San Diego, NBCSN Bay Area (San Francisco)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Padres RH Dinelson Lamet (3-4, 6.40 ERA) vs. Giants LH Ty Blach (6-5, 4.36)

Lamet had a streak of three straight quality starts before getting roughed up in his last two outings. The 25-year-old Dominican was tagged for six runs (five earned) in four-plus innings in a loss at Colorado to open the second half. Lamet has struggled away from home, going 1-3 with an 8.59 ERA in five road starts.

Blach has posted three consecutive quality starts after limiting Cleveland to one run and seven hits over seven innings on Tuesday. The 26-year-old has fared well at home, going 3-3 with a 3.57 ERA in 12 games (nine starts) this season. Blach faced the Padres on April 30 and allowed three hits over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision.

WALK-OFFS

1. San Francisco is 8-45 when scoring fewer than four runs.

2. San Diego OF Matt Szczur has gone 6-for-9 over the past two games, raising his season average from .202 to .237.

3. Giants INF Eduardo Nunez has reached base in 37 of his last 39 games, batting .340 over that span.

GAME: New York Yankees (50-46) at Seattle Mariners (49-50)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 4:10 PM EST
WHERE: Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The New York Yankees aim to finish their huge 11-game road trip with a winning record when they visit the Seattle Mariners on Sunday afternoon for the last of four contests. The Yankees are 5-5 on their trek after suffering a 6-5 setback in 10 innings on Saturday for just their second loss in the last 14 games at Safeco Field, despite dynamic rookie Aaron Judge’s major league-leading 32nd homer.

New York, which holds one of the two wild-card spots in the American League, allowed just two runs in winning the first two contests of the series and shortstop Didi Gregorius is 10-for-17 during a five-game hitting streak. The Yankees send Luis Cessa to the mound for the finale against Seattle’s veteran righty Yovani Gallardo in a battle of Mexican pitchers. The Mariners hope to build off Saturday’s victory as they try to stay in the race for a wild-card spot, trailing New York and Tampa Bay by 2 1/2 games. Nelson Cruz recorded his AL-leading 75th RBI with a single in the 10th to end it Saturday while rookie Ben Gamel has hit safely in nine consecutive contests, going 12-for-39 in that stretch, and scored the winning run.

TV: 4:10 p.m. ET, YES (New York), ROOT Northwest (Seattle)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees RH Luis Cessa (0-3, 4.61 ERA) vs. Mariners RH Yovani Gallardo (4-7, 5.59)

Cessa is scheduled to make his fifth start of the season after allowing three runs on four hits and four walks over 3 2/3 innings of a no-decision Tuesday at Minnesota. The 25-year-old has not gone past five innings in any of his four starts in 2017, but blanked Toronto over 4 2/3 frames of relief July 4. Cessa faces Seattle for the first time and is 2-4 with a 3.89 ERA in 10 career road appearances.

Gallardo returns to the rotation after permitting one run over 11 1/3 innings of relief, gaining the win in his last outing, and is three strikeouts from 1,500 for his career. The 31-year-old gave up five runs over five innings in his last start to lose at Texas on June 17. Matt Holliday is batting .343 with four homers versus Gallardo, who is 2-3 with a 6.47 ERA in six career contests against the Yankees.

WALK-OFFS

1. Seattle 1B Danny Valencia is 20-for-49 in his last 13 games at Safeco Field after going 1-for-4 on Saturday.

2. New York LF Brett Gardner boasts a five-game hitting streak, going 7-for-24 during the stretch.

3. Newly-acquired RHP David Phelps became the 32nd player to pitch for the Mariners this season Saturday, matching a club record (2016).

GAME: Atlanta Braves (47-49) at Los Angeles Dodgers (67-31)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 4:10 PM EST
WHERE: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Atlanta Braves hope left-hander Sean Newcomb will develop into an eventual top-of-the-rotation starter, and the rookie gets a chance to face one of the absolute best in Sunday’s series finale at the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers hand the ball to Clayton Kershaw, who has established himself as the frontrunner for his fourth National League Cy Young Award by leading the league in victories, ERA and innings pitched.

The Dodgers salvaged the third of the four-game series Saturday, using homers from Chase Utley, Corey Seager and Chris Taylor to secure a 6-2 victory. Los Angeles, which won 31-of-35 before dropping the first two games of the series, improved to 49-7 when scoring first. The Braves lost for only the third time in their past 10 road games and are 2-1 on the current 11-game, three-city road trip through Los Angeles, Arizona and Philadelphia. Rookie Johan Camargo continues to impress, going 2-for-4 with a run scored Saturday to raise his average to .336 in his past 41 games.

TV: 4:10 p.m. ET, FSN South (Atlanta), SportsNet Los Angeles

PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves LH Sean Newcomb (1-5, 4.86 ERA) vs. Dodgers LH Clayton Kershaw (15-2, 2.07)

The results of Newcomb’s first seven starts have been tied in part of the level of competition as he has posted a 1.48 ERA in three starts against teams under .500, and an 11.37 ERA against teams .500 or better. In three July starts against Houston, Washington and the Chicago Cubs, the 24-year-old is 0-3 with nine walks and three homers allowed in 12 2/3 innings. Newcomb, who MLB.com ranks as Atlanta’s No. 5 prospect and No. 66 overall, gave up five runs in 5 1/3 innings of a loss Tuesday to the Cubs.

Kershaw has not lost since May 1, winning 11 consecutive decisions across 14 starts while holding opponents to a .197 batting average with 122 strikeouts and 20 walks in 98 innings. His past five starts have been phenomenal, going 5-0 record with a 0.50 ERA (two earned allowed in 36 innings) with 51 strikeouts against just six walks. A handful of Braves have hit well off Kershaw, including Brandon Phillips (.321) and Ender Inciarte (.308).

WALK-OFFS

1. Phillips did not play for the second consecutive game Saturday with right hamstring tightness, but is expected to start Sunday.

2. Dodgers 3B Justin Turner, who entered the weekend hitting a major-leading leading .371, did not play due to an upper respiratory issue.

3. Taylor finished 2-for-2 Saturday with a homer and a triple, and is hitting .429 in July.

GAME: Washington Nationals (58-38) at Arizona Diamondbacks (56-41)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 4:10 PM EST
WHERE: Chase Field, Phoenix, Arizona
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Already assured of a successful road trip, the Washington Nationals will send Stephen Strasburg to the mound in the rubber match of a three-game series at the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon. National League East-leading Washington is 6-2 entering the finale of its nine-game trek after splitting a pair of one-run decisions against Arizona.

Strasburg, who is 4-2 with a 3.28 ERA in eight starts against the Diamondbacks, reached double-digit wins for the fourth straight season in his last outing. Teammate Bryce Harper, like Strasburg a former No. 1 overall pick, had two hits and two RBIs in Saturday's 4-3 win to extend his hitting streak to 15 games and lift his batting average to .338. Arizona's A.J. Pollock is 5-for-9 with five runs scored in the series and has hit safely in five games in a row. Opposing Strasburg will be left-hander Robbie Ray, who is going for his 10th win but has lost all three starts and logged a 6.48 ERA against Washington.

TV: 4:10 p.m. ET, MASN2 (Washington), FSN Arizona, FSN Arizona-Plus

PITCHING MATCHUP: Nationals RH Stephen Strasburg (10-3, 3.31 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks RH Robbie Ray (9-4, 2.97)

Strasburg had an awful start prior to the All-Star break, lasting only three innings and failing to strike out a batter while while allowing six runs (three earned) in a loss to Atlanta. He rebounded with an overpowering effort at Cincinnati on Monday, striking out 11 while yielding one run and four hits in seven innings. David Peralta is 4-for-6 with a homer off Strasburg, who is 7-1 in nine road starts.

Ray continued his fine season in his first start after the All-Star break, tossing six innings of two-run ball at Cincinnati to establish a career high with his ninth victory. He settled for a no-decision in his previous outing despite a masterful performance at the Los Angeles Dodgers, striking out 13 and giving up one run on five hits in six innings. Ryan Zimmerman is 3-for-5 with an RBI against Ray.

WALK-OFFS

1. Nationals RHP Ryan Madson has four strikeouts in three scoreless appearances since he was acquired from Oakland.

2. Diamondbacks 2B Chris Owings is hitless in 14 at-bats over the past four games.

3. Nationals LF Chris Heisey suffered a groin injury in Saturday's game and is not expected to be available Sunday.

GAME: St. Louis Cardinals (47-50) at Chicago Cubs (50-46)
DATE/TIME: Sunday, July 23 - 8:05 PM EST
WHERE: Wrigley Field, Chicago, Illinois
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Chicago Cubs traded for Jose Quintana to give them another pitcher they can count on to win big games, and Sunday’s contest fits the criteria. Quintana and the Cubs host the St. Louis Cardinals in the finale of a three-game series as they try to keep pace in the tightening National League Central race.

Quintana was dominant in his Cubs debut last Sunday, racking up 12 strikeouts over seven scoreless innings to win at Baltimore, and he’s eager to pitch in front of his new home crowd. "I'm really excited to be part of this team and throw Sunday against the Cardinals," Quintana told reporters. "I'm excited, man, I'm excited. I don't know what the fans will say to me, but I'll try to do the best." The Cubs evened the series with a 3-2 win Saturday, scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth after the Cardinals had broken a scoreless tie with back-to-back solo home runs in the top of the frame. Chicago has won seven of eight since the All-Star break to get within one game of NL Central leader Milwaukee, while St. Louis is 4 1/2 games behind the Brewers.
