KEY STAT: Ajax are unbeaten in their last 13 domestic fixtures

EXPERT VERDICT: Ajax have not tasted defeat in the Dutch top flight since August and should have few problems overcoming mid-table Utrecht at the Amsterdam Arena. Slow starts have been a feature for Ajax in recent years but they have steadily improved and were 5-0 winners at home to Willem II last Saturday.

RECOMMENDATION: Ajax to win 2-0

KEY STAT: Sampdoria have drawn half of their 14 Serie A matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Juve go into this game ten points superior to Sampdoria yet they have both lost just the one game this season. That illustrates how tough Samp are to beat and the fact that they draw too many games. Juve had won all eight home games prior to Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid, and this promises to be every bit as tight.

RECOMMENDATION: Draw

KEY STAT: St-Etienne are unbeaten in their last eight league matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Out-of-form Nice have not won a home match since late September and will struggle to avoid defeat against fourth-placed St-Etienne, who have the joint-best defensive record in the French top division. St-Etienne are unbeaten in their last four away league games and head to the Cote D'Azur with the hope to registering a fourth successive win.

RECOMMENDATION: St-Etienne

KEY STAT: Each of the last seven Premier League meetings at Old Trafford have featured at least three goals

EXPERT VERDICT: Since losing to Swansea on opening day Manchester United have dropped just two points from seven home games, and that was against Chelsea. Their attacking talent should see United to victory against Liverpool, who are a shadow of the team who beat United 3-0 in March.

RECOMMENDATION: Man Utd

KEY STAT: Genoa have conceded just three goals in their last six home games

EXPERT VERDICT: Roma must pick themselves up after the disappointment of Wednesday's Champions League exit against Manchester City and they face a tricky trip to Genoa. The surprise packages of Serie A start the weekend in third place and are worth backing to add Roma to an impressive list of scalps including champions Juventus, Lazio and, last week, Milan.

RECOMMENDATION: Genoa

KEY STAT: There have only been eight goals in Gladbach’s six away league games

EXPERT VERDICT: Gladbach, unbeaten until a month ago, hit the buffers with three straight defeats though they returned to winning ways by beating Hertha 3-2 last weekend. They also looked really impressive and that sets them up for a tricky trip to Leverkusen who have become a model of inconsistency.

RECOMMENDATION: Gladbach

NHL Grand Salami - December

The Grand Salami in pro hockey is decided by adding up all the goals scored in every game scheduled for that particular day. You can wager on 'over' or 'under' the Grand Salami total. The total is set by adding up all listed 'over/under' odds for each game on that particular day.

Note: The Grand Salami will have no action if any game is suspended or cancelled before the regulation time of three twenty minute periods. Also, regardless of the number of goals scored during the shoot out portion of the overtime, the final scored recorded for the game will give the winning team on more goal than its opponent based on the score at the end of regulation time.

*The majority of sportsbooks do not put out a total on the Grand Salami when there is only one game on the card. For tracking purposes, we will continue to show the 'over/under' for goals and combined goals scored on days with just one game.

Preview: Rangers (13-10) at Oilers (7-18)

Date: December 14, 2014 9:30 PM EDT

After pouring it on against one of the Western Conference's top teams, the New York Rangers have a prime opportunity to match their best winning streak of the season against the worst in the West.

They'll make their second stop on a four-game trip Sunday night in Edmonton, where the Oilers are seeking scoring solutions of any kind.

The Rangers (13-10-4) opened the trip with a 5-1 victory Saturday in Vancouver and can now win three in a row for the first time since Oct. 16-21. A 3-0 lead in under seven minutes set the tone, and there could certainly be more in the near future with three of their next four coming against the two worst teams in hockey - Edmonton and Carolina.

Mats Zuccarello scored twice after managing just four goals in his first 24 games. Zuccarello had 19 in 77 games a season ago and has two goals and two assists in three games against Edmonton.

"It's good for his confidence to put a couple pucks in there, but his game doesn't change, he keeps it consistent," goaltender Henrik Lundqvist told the team's official website.

Rick Nash added two assists, giving the big forward 11 points on a nine-game streak. Nash scored twice in his last visit to Edmonton - a 5-0 New York win March 30.

Derick Brassard also had two assists to give him seven points on a five-game streak.

The Oilers (7-18-5) are losing by a 3.40-1.80 average over a 1-10-4 stretch. They've gone five games without scoring more than two goals, have compiled just 17 in 11 contests, and in that time the power play has gone 3 for 28.

"We continue to search for goals (on the power play) and we'll keep changing it, adjusting it, hammering on it," coach Dallas Eakins told the team's official website.

Another defeat would give them their fourth skid of at least four games - an impressive feat given they've played 30 games and already have endured a slide of 11.

The Oilers, whose 19 points are tied with Carolina for the least in hockey, could be happy to see a team from the East after suffering defeats in San Jose and Anaheim before Friday's 4-2 home loss to the Ducks. That stretch has them at 1-15-4 against the West, while they're 6-3-1 against the East.

Still, Taylor Hall thought the performance gap was minimal against Anaheim.

"I feel like I have said this eight times this year, but it was just a couple of shifts that killed us," said Hall, who has gone eight contests without a goal and has failed to score in four career games against New York.

In goal, Ben Scrivens will start after replacing Viktor Fasth against the Ducks. Scrivens, who has gone 1-7-3 with a 3.85 goals-against average over his last 11 starts, faced the Rangers twice with Edmonton last season and was 1-1-0 with a 3.00 GAA.

Lundqvist helped defeat the Canucks with 29 saves to recover from a 2-2-0 stretch with a 3.48 GAA and .869 save percentage. He's dropped his last four starts against the Oilers, but he has a 2.03 GAA in those games.

The Oilers could face Cam Talbot, who's posted two shutouts with a 1.01 GAA over a 2-1-0 span. Talbot is 1-1-0 with a 1.01 GAA versus the Oilers.

New York has dropped three of four in the series, including a 3-1 home loss Nov. 9.

NHL game roundup: Senators beat Bruins in shootout
By THE SPORTS XCHANGE

BOSTON -- The Ottawa Senators presented new coach Dave Cameron with his first NHL victory on Saturday.

Right winger Bobby Ryan beat Boston's Tuukka Rask with the deciding goal in the shootout, giving the Senators a 3-2 decision over the Bruins.

The win, only the third in the last 11 games for Ottawa, came in Cameron's second game after taking over for Paul MacLean, who was fired.

The loss was the fifth in the last six games for the Bruins.

Center Mika Zibanejad, who scored Ottawa's first goal of the game, opened the shootout with a goal, but Boston left winger Brad Marchand matched that in the second round.

Robin Lehner stopped center Patrice Bergeron before Ryan, stopped by Rask on a semi-breakaway in overtime, scored.

Flyers 5, Hurricanes 1

PHILADELPHIA -- Center Sean Couturier scored less than a minute into the game, and four other Philadelphia players contributed goals in a rout of Carolina.

The Flyers won their second straight game and third in the last four.

Right winger Claude Giroux and center Brayden Schenn each added two assists, and goaltender Steve Mason made 25 saves for Philadelphia.

Carolina center Eric Staal scored his seventh goal of the season as the Hurricanes lost their fifth straight game.

Islanders 3, Blackhawks 2

UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- The New York Islanders ended their three-game skid and snapped Chicago's eight-game winning streak on a power-play goal by Lubomir Visnovsky in the third period.

Visnovsky skated through the Chicago defense and buried a wrister top shelf past Chicago goaltender Scott Darling at 11:01 of the third.

Islanders goalie Jaroslv Halak finished with 23 saves and Darling had 38 for the Blackhawks.

Maple Leafs 4, Red Wings 1

TORONTO -- Right winger Richard Panik scored the go-ahead goal on a breakaway late in the second period as Toronto beat Detroit.

The victory gave the Maple Leafs a 3-1-1 record in the season series between the teams. The Leafs have won four in a row.

Left winger James van Riemsdyk, defenseman Morgan Rielly and center Nazem Kadri also scored for Toronto.

Jonathan Bernier -- back in goal for the Maple Leafs after James Reimer played in the shootout win over the Red Wings on Tuesday -- made 27 saves.

Sabres 4, Panthers 3 (OT)

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Defenseman Nikita Zadorov scored 29 seconds into overtime to lead Buffalo over Florida.

The goal came after some fine work by right winger Tyler Ennis in the Florida end. After Ennis maneuvered to find space, he found Zadorov inside the left circle and the defenseman put a one-timer past Panthers goalie Al Montoya.

Center Cody Hodgson, left winger Marcus Foligno and right winger Brian Gionta also scored for the Sabres . Goalie Jhonas Enroth made 25 saves.

Left winger Sean Bergenheim, right winger Jimmy Hayes and left winger Jussi Jokinen scored for the Panthers.

Ducks 4, Jets 1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Center Ryan Getzlaf scored a goal and added an assist as Anaheim extended its winning streak to seven games with a victory over Winnipeg.

Getzlaf's even-strength goal was his 10th of the season and he now has a team-leading 33 points.

Anaheim also got a power-play goal from right winger Jakob Silfverberg and shorthanded goals by centers Nate Thompson and Andrew Cogliano. Goalie Frederik Andersen stopped 27 shots in his 18th straight start for the Ducks.

Center Brian Little scored his team-leading 12th goal of the season for Winnipeg.

Blue Jackets 4, Penguins 3 (SO)

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky had 33 saves, not including the winning stop in the shootout, as Columbus beat Pittsburgh in a game that featured 88 penalty minutes between the clubs.

The Blue Jackets, who won only six of their first 22 games, have now won six in a row -- a streak that started on Dec. 1.

Left winger Nick Folingo, center Boone Jenner and defenseman Jack Johnson scored goals in regulation for the Blue Jackets, and center Ryan Johansen scored what turned out to be the winner in the second round of the shootout.

The Penguins, playing without star center Sidney Crosby, got two goals in regulation from defenseman Kris Letang, including one with 10.3 seconds remaining to force a 3-3 tie.

Capitals 4, Lightning 2

WASHINGTON -- Center Nicklas Backstrom recorded the first regular-season hat trick of his career and Washington held off a late rally by Tampa Bay.

The win lifted the Capitals to 4-0-1 in their last five games. The loss was the third in four games for the Lightning, who received late goals from center Tyler Johnson and defenseman Matt Carle before Capitals center Eric Fehr sealed it with an empty-netter with 38.1 seconds remaining.

Wild 4, Coyotes 3 (SO)

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Left winger Zach Parise and center Mikko Koivu scored in the shootout to send Minnesota past Arizona.

Left winger Lauri Korpikoski gave the Coyotes a 3-2 lead in the final minute of the second period before Parise scored his 11th goal of the season to tie it at 14:07 of the third period on a power play.

The Coyotes have lost five in a row and eight of nine. It was their ninth consecutive home loss.

Stars 4, Devils 3

DALLAS -- Centers Tyler Seguin and Jason Spezza had a goal and an assist each as Dallas defeated New Jersey.

Dallas left winger Antoine Roussel had two assists and Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen stopped 28 of 31 shots as the Stars finished 1-2-0 in their three-game homestand. Seguin, Spezza, defenseman Trevor Daley and center Shawn Horcoff scored for Dallas.

New Jersey got goals from defensemen Jon Merrill and Eric Gelinas and center Scott Gomez in its second straight loss.

Rangers 5, Canucks 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Mats Zuccarello had a pair of goals as New York leaped out to an early lead then embarrassed Vancouver.

The Rangers took control of the game in the first period. New York used odd-man rushes to score three goals on just four shots for a 3-0 lead with under seven minutes gone.

Defenseman Ryan McDonagh, center J.T. Miller and defenseman Marc Staal also scored for New York, who improved their record to 13-10-4 for 30 points. Left winger Rick Nash and centre Derick Brassard had two assists each for the Rangers who are 2-4-1 in their last seven road games.

Center Nick Bonino scored for the Canucks to snap a 15-game goal drought. The loss extends Vancouver's winless streak to four games (0-3-1) and leaves the Canucks with a 18-10-2 record for 38 points.

Blues 3, Avalanche 2 (OT)

DENVER -- Center T.J. Oshie scored 1:03 into overtime and St. Louis beat Colorado.

Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk had a goal and an assist and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo also scored for the Blues, who have won four straight.

Oshie got the game winner when he got a centering pass from defenseman Barret Jackman and beat goaltender Calvin Pickard with a snap shot. It was Oshie's fifth goal of the season.

Goaltender Jake Allen had 23 saves for the Blues (20-8-2).

St. Louis won in center Paul Stastny's return to Denver. Stastny spent his first eight years with Colorado, where he had 160 goals and 298 assists. He signed a four-year, $28 million contract with St. Louis this summer to return to

the city where he grew up and his parents still live.

Sharks 2, Predators 0

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Antti Niemi and San Jose turned the tables on defensive-minded Nashville for a shutout win at SAP Center.

The San Jose goalie, making his first appearance in four games, stopped 29 shots (18 in the third period) for his second shutout of the season and 28th of his career.

San Jose moved past Calgary into third place in the Pacific Division, and tied Vancouver -- with two games in hand -- in points with 38 apiece. It was the Sharks' sixth straight win at home and seventh victory in eight games overall.

Center Joe Thornton scored into an empty net at 18:26, his eighth goal of the season and 350th of his career.

NBA Preview: Spurs (16-7) at Nuggets (10-13)

Date: December 14, 2014 8:00 PM EDT

Gregg Popovich called San Antonio's latest performance "pitiful," and visiting Denver may not be an ideal way for the Spurs to bounce back ahead of a daunting stretch.

With a six-game stretch against playoff teams from last season looming, San Antonio tries to shake out of its recent funk Sunday night against the Nuggets.

The Spurs (16-7) have followed an eight-game winning streak by splitting six, but those three losses have come against teams with losing records.

The latest, a 112-110 overtime defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, drew Popovich's ire.

"They had an edge, they were aggressive on both ends of the floor, they executed well and they definitely wanted the game more than we did," he said. "It seemed more important to them than to us. I thought our performance was pitiful."

That frustration isn't limited to the three-time coach of the year.

"It is frustrating. It's disappointing," guard Manu Ginobili said. "Looks like we need to be challenged badly to get the best out of our game.

"If we don't play hard and humble and do every little thing that is needed to get these wins, we're going to struggle. We're not that good that just because of being out there we're going to win or intimidate opponents. We gotta fight for it."

The schedule alone should provide some motivation for the reigning NBA champions. After visiting the Nuggets (10-13), the Spurs will face Portland twice, Memphis, Dallas, the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City.

"Everything is an opportunity," Ginobili said.

Prior to entering that stretch, though, San Antonio will try to slow down the Nuggets, who have won five of the last six at home while averaging 110.8 points.

Denver may be thrilled to be opening a four-game homestand after falling 108-96 at Houston on Saturday - its fifth loss in six games.

The Nuggets gave up 50 points in the paint to the Rockets while shooting 37.5 percent from the field and 7 for 28 from beyond the arc.

"We got dominated by their big guys inside," coach Brian Shaw said.

Shaw should be wary of that happening again since Tim Duncan has averaged 22.8 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in the last six matchups.

Duncan scored 20 points and the Spurs put up 64 in the paint in a 133-102 victory at Denver on March 28, their 12th win in the last 16 meetings and second straight at the Pepsi Center.

Kawhi Leonard had 14 points in that visit, but it's unclear if he'll be available this time after missing two games with a hand injury.

The Nuggets could use another strong performance from Ty Lawson, who had 19 points and 12 assists against the Rockets. Lawson is third in the league with 10.4 assists per game, but he's averaged just 11.2 points, 5.5 assists and shot 31.9 percent in his last six meetings with the Spurs.

Pelicans' Davis is questionable Sunday vs. Warriors
Stephen Campbell

New Orleans Pelicans budding star Anthony Davis is listed as questionable for his team's matchup with the Golden State Warriors Sunday.

Davis was injured in Friday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Pelicans head coach Monty Williams said the 21-year-old was hospitalized Friday night with a chest contusion, but tests revealed the issue is not serious.

Even if the Kentucky product is on the shelf Sunday, he is not expected to miss a significant amount of time with the injury.

Red-hot Warriors' ATS win streak reaches five games
Stephen Campbell

The Golden State Warriors extended their winning streak to 15 games with a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks Saturday.

With the win, the Dubs became just the 12th team in NBA history to start a season with a 20-2 straight-up record. Golden State began the contest with the best record against the spread in the Association and continued that trend, easily covering as 1-point underdogs.

Steph Curry and company enter Sunday's clash with New Orleans on a 5-0 ATS streak. At the time of writing, the line for the game was off the board.

Raptors cruising to victories vs. lesser competition

Winnable games have been just that for the Toronto Raptors this season.

The Raps are 10-2 against teams with losing records. Toronto faces off against the lowly New York Knicks (4-20 straight-up) at MSG Sunday.

Books currently have the Knicks as 6-point home dogs with a total of 200.5.

Thunder streaking ATS with Durant back in the fold
Stephen Campbell

The Kevin Durant effect is more than evident on the court and as a result, Oklahoma City backers are cashing in.

After topping Minnesota 111-92 Friday, the Thunder improved to 5-1 with the reigning MVP. Without Durant in the lineup, OKC is just 5-12. On the spread, the Thunder failed to cover in KD's first three games since returning from injury, but have collected three ATS wins in a row since.

OKC welcomes Phoenix to town in Sunday's NBA action.

Toronto Raptors at New York Knicks December 14, 07:00 EST

Toronto Raptors take the floor in a desirable winning situation when they face New York Knicks at MSG Sunday evening. That's because Raptors are a solid 10-1 (8-3 ATS) against a team with a losing record outscoring the opponents by 11.6 points/game. Raptors a league second best in 'Offensive Efficiency' netting 111.7 points per 100 possessions will put a slew through the hoop facing Knicks with a 'Defensive Efficiency' allowing opponents to score 107.6 points per 100 possessions. Stick with Toronto knowing Raptors are a solid 25-12-1 ATS netting => 105 points/game while Knicks are 4-19 ATS allowing =>105 per/contest

Biggest Favorite to Cash

Detroit (-10.5) continued to roll at Ford Field by avoiding a letdown with a 24-17 victory over the upset-minded Buccaneers. Matthew Stafford tossed three touchdowns for the Lions, who are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS at home this season.

Biggest Underdog to Cash

The Falcons (+13.5) picked themselves up off the mat after going down 31-7 at halftime, rallying for the cover. The Falcons scored a TD with 12:33 left in the fourth quarter to pull within 10, and get back in good shape for the cover. However, their lead was short-lived, as the Packers struck for a 60-yard pass play and score just 1:55 later, putting the Packers in line for the cover despite a missed extra point which could have factored in big if the game ended up a 13-point margin rather than 14. The Falcons answered back, then the Packers hit a field goal to go up 13. The blocked extra point ended up not factoring in, as the Falcons scored the final points of the game with 2:11 for the cover.

Home/Away

Road teams went 7-2 in the early games on Sunday. The only home squads to win in the 1:00 games were Minnesota and Detroit, as the Vikings pulled off an overtime victory over the Jets, 30-24, while grabbing a frontdoor cover.

Highway Chalk

In the four early games that featured road favorites, all four squads (Indianapolis, Houston, N.Y. Giants, and St. Louis) picked up victories, while this group went 3-1 ATS. The Colts (-3) rallied late to stun the Browns, 25-24, overcoming a pair of defensive touchdowns by Cleveland. The Texans, Giants, and Rams all won by double-digits, while St. Louis pulled off its second consecutive shutout.

Silver and Back

Break up the Raiders, who won for the second time in three games following an 0-10 start with Sunday's 24-13 home triumph of San Francisco as 8.5-point underdogs. Derek Carr outdueled Colin Kaepernick as the Oakland rookie quarterback tossed three touchdowns, while the Raiders' defefnse limited San Francisco to 248 yards.

Not so Sunny

All three Sunshine State teams lost, including the Jaguars and Dolphins at home. Miami blew an early 10-0 lead in a 28-13 defeat to Baltimore as three-point favorites in a virtual playoff game for positioning in the AFC. Jacksonville couldn't capitalize off last week's dramatic victory over the Giants, as the Jags fell short in a 27-13 setback to the Texans as 6.5-point underdogs.

Flying High

The Seahawks won on the East Coast for the third time in three tries this season, knocking off the Eagles, 24-14 in a key NFC showdown. Seattle opened up as one-point underdogs, but closed as 1.5-point favorites to improve to 4-3 on the road. Philadelphia suffered its first regular season loss at Lincoln Financial Field in the past 11 tries.

Totals

In the first full December card, the 'under' came through in nine of 14 games on Sunday, including a perfect 4-0 to the 'under' in the late contests Sunday, with the 'over' hitting Monday night.

The Steelers (42) and Panthers (41) were the top-scoring teams on Sunday, as Carolina barely went 'over' the total of 50.5 in a 41-10 win at New Orleans. Pittsburgh blew up in the fourth quarter at Cincinnati with a 25-point output, as the Steelers cruised to a 42-21 drubbing with a total of 47.5.

Indianapolis had an opportunity to pick up a push on the 50 total at Cleveland by just kicking the extra-point after the go-ahead touchdown, but the Colts went for a two-point conversion and missed it. The Colts actually went for another two-point converstion earlier and didn't convert, costing 'over' bettors for a free two points in a 25-24 win.

The Jets-Vikings game had the lowest total (40) on the board, as Minnesota led at halftime, 21-15 to pretty much guarantee an 'over.' The Jets tied the game at 21-21 early in the fourth, as New York snapped a four-game streak to the 'under' in a 30-24 loss.

Notable streaks that were extended and came to a close are listed below.

The Bills have cashed the 'under' in five consecutive games, while owning the best 'under' mark in the league at 11-2.

Tampa Bay's six-game 'under' streak came to a close in the 34-17 loss at Detroit on a 41.5 total.

The 'over' for Green Bay snapped a two-game 'under' slide. Overall this season, the over is 6-1 at home for the Packers, and 10-3 overall.

Manziel's first start sparks betting action on Browns

It's "Johnny Football" time in Cleveland. Johnny Manziel will make his first career start for the Cleveland Browns this week against the Cincinnati Bengals, as first reported by Fox Sports Insider Jay Glazer, and that's lit a fire under football bettors.

Manziel's first career start has sparked massive betting interest at online sportsbooks, with money coming in strong on Cleveland following the announcement and moving the Browns from as big as +2.5 to 1-point favorites hosting the Bengals Sunday.

SportsInteraction was one of those markets that reacted to a flood of money on the underdog and moved the spread across the fence, making the Browns brief -1 favorites before bettors bought back the Bengals as 1-point underdogs and pushed the line back to a pick'em.

"Yeah just heavy action from the 'Johnny Football' crowd," says a spokeman for SportsInteraction, stating that about 56 percent of bets are on the Browns. "Our guys expect it to settle down now that the decision has been made. I don't see the Browns becoming the favorite in this game just because they've decided to start their backup QB. Bettors closer to Sunday won't be as caught up in the QB circus."

According to Michael Stewart, who moved Cleveland from +2.5 to +1, the rush of Cleveland action has balanced out the early money on Cincinnati.

In Las Vegas, many books are dealing Cleveland +1 but it's more of a reaction to the online markets taking action. Ed Salmons, an oddsmaker for the Las Vegas Westgate Superbook says there has been zero increase in action on Cleveland since Manziel was officially named starter.

According to Jeff Stoneback, sportsbook manager at the MGM Mirage, "Johnny Football" fever hasn't hit there yet either, but expects the Browns to be a very popular play with the tourists as the weekend gets closer. Stoneback also says sharps will be keeping a close eye on how far this spread moves.

"The pros might be waiting to see what happens this week and perhaps get the Bengals as +1 or +1.5 underdog depending on how much the tourists jump in," he says. "At this point, with the way (Brian) Hoyer's playing, (Manziel) doesn't give (the Browns) a better chance to win but he doesn't give them a worse chance either. They really have nothing to lose by playing him."

Manziel replaces Brian Hoyer, who started Cleveland's first 13 games but has struggled recently, throwing just one touchdown to eight interceptions in the last five games, completing 53.5 percent of his passes.

Cleveland did find success against the spread with Hoyer under center, going 7-4-2 ATS with him this season.

In Manziel's only extended game action against Buffalo, he went 5-8 for 63 yards and a rushing touchdown.

The total has moved as low as 43 points after opening at 44.5.

NFL Opening Line Report: First place on the line as Cowboys visit Philly
By COLIN KELLY

We’re through 14 weeks of the NFL season, and the playoff chase in both conferences still has a whole lot of uncertainty – for the teams involved, and the bettors who wager on them.

Several Week 15 matchups could help clear up the picture, including Dallas and Philadelphia getting together just two weeks after their Thanksgiving clash.

The Eagles (9-4 SU, 8-5 ATS) rumbled to a 33-10 road victory as a 3-point road underdog in that contest to break a tie with the Cowboys atop the NFC East. However, on Sunday, Philly bowed down to Seattle 24-14 as a 1-point home dog.

Dallas (9-4 SU, 7-6 ATS) comes into this game with a little extra rest, having played back-to-back Thursday games – against the Eagles, then last week in a 41-28 road victory over Chicago laying 4 points.

John Lester, senior lines manager for BookMaker.eu, doesn’t expect a big change from two weeks ago.

“Well, we’re back to where we were two weeks ago -- first place on the line in a bitter NFC East rivalry,” Lester said. “Personally, I don’t see the outcome being much different than the first meeting, even with the extra time for the Cowboys. They just don’t have the personnel defensively to match up with the Eagles. Dallas is going to have to match scores to stay in it.”

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (-8.5)

San Fran has been to the last three NFC championship games, and a Super Bowl two seasons ago. But the Niners are practically out of the playoff chase. San Francisco (7-6 SU, 6-7 ATS) fell to Seattle 19-3 on Thanksgiving as a 1-point home fave, then laid a complete egg Sunday as an 8-point home chalk against lowly Oakland, losing 24-13.

Seattle (9-4 SU, 7-6 ATS), the defending Super Bowl champ, appears to be hitting its stride just in time. The Seahawks have won six of seven SU (4-3 ATS), including Sunday’s 24-14 victory at Philadelphia laying 1 point.

“It’s going to be very difficult for the Niners to get up for this one, coming off the devastating upset at Oakland and knowing they are essentially out of the playoffs. Not to mention all the external distractions,” Lester said. “Meanwhile, Seattle certainly looks like it has regained its Super Bowl form. We had to move a full point higher after initially opening at -8.5.”

Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers

The defending AFC champion Broncos (10-3 SU, 6-7 ATS) are trying to push closer to a first-round playoff bye and put a stranglehold on the West Division. On Sunday, Denver held off Buffalo 24-17, failing to cash as a 9-point home favorite.

The Chargers (8-5 SU, 6-7 ATS) put themselves in a precarious spot by blowing an early 14-3 lead against New England on Sunday night, failing to score the rest of the way in a 24-4 loss as a 4-point home pup.

“The Denver defense is starting to come around. I still don’t think it’s great, but it is performing better overall,” said Lester, who hadn’t yet set a number on this game. “Sharps and squares weren’t afraid to bet against San Diego last week, and I doubt anything will change this week. That said, after this Sunday night performance by the Chargers, we’ll probably make the Broncos around 6-point chalk.”

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots

New England (10-3 SU, 8-5 ATS) has been on fire for two months now, with the only blemish a 26-21 loss at Green Bay during an 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS streak. On Sunday night at San Diego, the Pats spotted the Chargers a 14-3 lead early in the second quarter, then scored 21 unanswered points the rest of the way for a 24-14 victory giving 4 points.

Miami (7-6 SU and ATS), firmly in the playoff mix a couple of weeks ago, is now on the brink after a 28-13 home loss to Baltimore laying 3 points.

“The Pats may want to alter their defensive plan of attack after Baltimore exposed Miami’s O-line this weekend,” Lester said. “Also, Miami losing safety Louis Delmas (knee) should create more opportunities for New England through the air. It’s a big loss. The Dolphins always seem to have a good game plan in this matchup, so I expect some sharps will be looking for the dog at more than a touchdown.”
